The plea agreement between Paul Manafort and special counsel Robert Mueller requires him to hand over four properties acquired or furnished with ill-gotten money, including a lavish estate in the tony Hamptons, on Long Island, New York.

The four homes are worth about $16 million, combined, according to estimates from real-estate firm Zillow. Manafort will also hand over $30 million or so in cash and other assets, including a life-insurance policy. 174 Jobs Lane, Water Mill, N.Y. 5,574 square feet / 10 bedrooms / 6 bathrooms. Estimated value: $7 million. 377 Union Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 4,284 square feet / 7 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms. Estimated valued: $4.1 million. 29 Howard St., Unit 4, New York, N.Y. 2,150 square feet / 2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms. Estimated value: $2.9 million. 1046 N. Edgewood Street, Arlington, Va. 2,828 square feet / 4 bedrooms / 2.5 bathrooms. Estimated value: $1.7 million.

The guy was a lobbyist yet they isn’t any record of his lobbying foreign or domestic. He wasn’t following the law for a long time and he got caught. Sucks how he got caught but doesn’t change the fact that he was breaking the law swamp style. Boo hoo let’s feel bad for law breaking lobbyists

That’s right. Mueller’s mandate from the Department of Justice is to investigate “any links and or coordination between the Russian government and individuals ASSOCIATED with the campaign of President Trump.” Manafort was the campaign chairman. Mueller wants to know if HE, Manafort had links or coordination with Russian government officials.

Out $46 million, plus sentenced to 80 years in prison, for being chairman of the Trump campaign for a couple of months.

That will serve as a warning to anyone thinking of having a top position in the 2020 Trump campaign.

Great post.
What kind of Americans think breaking down a door before sunrise and terrorizing a family in their home and throwing family photos and mementos and lingerie onto the floor and stepping on them as they empty all drawers and file boxes is an okay thing to do? I say to them: See how you feel when it happens to you, losers.
Manafort’s main crime: working for a candidate hated by the FBI and Mueller.

Even you know that Paul Manafort is no more guilty than 200 other elite Swamp Creature lobbyists. Such as Podesta scum who Manafort worked for. That Manafort got a proctological examination only due to his Trump association. Manafort was a great asset to the Trump campaign. He got Trump through the Convention.

“Find me the man, and I will find you the crime” Lavrenty Beria who headed up Stalin’s secret police.

“His lawyer said Manafort wanted to make sure that “his family was able to remain safe and live a good life.””

Works for me.

Because what was done to Manafort was unconscionable and should never, ever be allowed to happen in America.

The 8th Amendment does not grant you the right to bail. But, it does protect you from *excessive* bail.

$10 million for white collar crimes was not reasonable under the circumstances. With the Fake News dogging every move he made, at what point did he become a serious flight risk?

An ankle bracelet would have gotten the job done just fine.

But, wait. It gets worse. Mueller arranges for the man accused of crimes in which no violence of any kind is alleged, to be thrown into solitary for 23 hours per day.

He was not permitted access to a radio, TV, or reading material, not so much as a newspaper. How long could you live like that before going completely mad?

Mueller’s intent was clear enough. Keep the pressure on Manafort until he coughs up something useful about Trump, real or imaginary.

Nobody is suggesting that Manafort is a good guy. But, he is not menacing the rest of us. He and his attorneys were fully cooperating with the prosecutor’s office. They produced everything that was requested. There was no need for the kind of raid on his home normally reserved for people who would actually shoot a cop.

If we’re going to start tossing people into solitary for failing to register as a foreign lobbyist, we’ll need a hell of a lot more prisons. Half of K Street will be in the Hole.

Manafort was used as a political prisoner and that should not be tolerated in this country.

Do Manafort a favor and seize his wardrobe. It is crass and tacky.

If the laws were just in this country Hillary would have to forfeit her life for Treason.

If the laws were just, Hillary would have already been put to death.

CNN let is slip last night that he was testifying to protect his family. Sounds like the mob, uh, Mueller, gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Which houses will Hillary have to forfeit?

None. Hildebeeste is a demonicRAT and has a vagina ... therefore she can get away with murder. Literally.

That renders his testimony unreliable, IMO. Testimony given under duress should be disregarded.

“I don’t think they do really defend him - only that he is being crucified because he helped Trump. If he had helped Clinton, he’d be home free”

Manafort is going to jail and paying large fines. The Podesta brothers are free. Tells the story.

Sounds like the mob?

The mob didn’t kill innocent civilians or family members intentionally.

We grew up thinking our government was much better than others.
