Rhami Zeini, a 16-year-old high school junior, discovered the purse Wednesday in the middle of the street on his walk home from school when he found $10,000

Zeini, who first checked the purse for identification, went to his parents and turned in the purse to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

“What a great example of doing the right thing even when no one is watching,” the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office tweeted late Friday night.

Deputies were able to track down the owner of the purse and give her the money. The woman gave Zeini $100 as a reward. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said the woman had been on a hike and mistakenly left the purse on the roof of her vehicle before driving away.

“$10,000 now, and $10,000 after you’ve dumped the body off in the woods.”

I read in the UK Daily Mail, when they are returning money that has been turned in, they take an automatic 10% for “handling”.Suprised Gov. Brown hasn’t thought of this for yet another money grab to foist on the public.

If he had returned that purse with $5000 in it, would she have given him $50?

Why is it anytime someone has a substantial amount of cash on them the FR poopoo heads come out and accuse them of doing something illegal. The fact that there was enough identification in the bag to find the rightful owner should be proof enough that it was on the up and up. $10K in cash really isn’t that much in this day and age.

It can be embarrassing to dine with a group of cheapskates...

Seniors...In a casino, gambling, dine at the buffet on a coupon, demanding the senior discount, loading up, running the servers around like slaves, then leaving a $1 “tip...

When you ask them if that’s appropriate, the reply is “We’re on a fixed income...” When you remind them the tip should be based on the value of the meal, not what you actually paid, all you get is a blank look and anger for a reply...

I usually end up picking up the slack for my cheap “friends” because I feel sorry for the hard working servers...So it ends up costing me extra for the privilege of their company...

When dining at a buffet, I don’t leave the 15-20 % I would at a sit down order off the menu restaurant either. At a buffet maybe 5 - 10 %.

A few of our local SoCal ‘Persian’ immigrants are Zoroastrians, aka Parsis. They dislike Islam in a fashion that only those who have lived under it can muster.

A common observation by those who work in restaurants is that some of the cheapest customers are those who are wealthy but got their meals comped. They are especially bad at leaving tips. The poor and middle class are often far more generous.

In military commissaries, the baggers work for tips only. The military officers are notorious for being cheap skates. The enlisted people are more generous. Doesn’t speak well for the officers, does it? I know the baggers, would sometimes avoid the officers, as much as they could. They knew who the cheapies were.
