I live near the head of the Potomac.
The river is a mile south of me.
It’s been in or near flood stage constantly.
WeatherBug chirps me “flash flood/flood warnings” every few days.
All. It. Does. Is. Rain. Now.
My yard is a swamp.
The ground simply cannot absorb another drop.
We had precious few riding days this “summer” because if wasn’t raining, it was cold.
February, the monsoon season starts and *used* to go until the middle of June.
This year, I’m still waiting for the end of it.
So. Much. F***ing. Rain.
Feel like I’m living a Ray Bradbury short story.
“In Constant Sorrow.... all my days......”
Man of Constant Sorrow— The Soggy Bottom Boys from “Brother Where Art Thou” movie.
Soggy summer in NC. Huge German Johnson tomatoes in record number yield on our place. That and boat loads of okra, over night, every night. Two Athena cantaloupe plant/vines producing 24 cantaloupes the size of a milk jug. Lotta water. Steamy like tropical jungle.
Caught a weather report here in DC a couple of days ago. The weatherman said it only rained twice this summer: once for 45 days and then again for 30 days. That's about right.
