Are intel officials trying to slow Trump order to declassify Russia probe documents?
NBC "News" ^ | September 18, 2018 | by Ken Dilanian and Mike Memoli

U.S. intelligence officials, blindsided by President Donald Trump's order that they make public highly sensitive files in the Russia investigation, are hoping the White House will allow them to conduct a formal declassification review and damage assessment before they are forced to release the documents, current and former officials tell NBC News.

Senior executives at the FBI, Justice Department and Office of the Director of National intelligence were scrambling Tuesday to respond after being taken by surprise by a White House press release Monday directing them to release classified material they had previously determined should not be made public.

But officials remained hopeful Tuesday that the White House would allow the declassification review to go forward, even as they expressed private outrage that Trump and his allies in Congress were seeking to disclose secret information for what appeared to be purely political purposes.

Officials said it was unclear how long the review would take. One challenge is that Trump ordered the release of only those text messages related to the Russia investigation. That will require the FBI to sort through tens of thousands of messages to figure out which ones apply.

Meanwhile, Trump said on Twitter that the documents would show there was no basis for the surveillance of his campaign aide.

"Really bad things were happening, but they are now being exposed," Trump wrote. "Big stuff!"

In other words, they were startled because they haven't finished wiping evidence fully.

This is nonsense. Only Helen Keller could be blindsided by the President's decision. They are trying to delay and block the release because it will reveal criminal activity by our Intelligence Community. The only sensitive information is information that will embarrass and implicate deep state actors.

Trump ordered the release of the unredacted FISA applications “immediately.” He now needs to enforce that order. This is another challenge to his authority as President. Now means now and he should start firing people.

That is Plan B, to be executed when it is obvious the agencies involved are intentionally slow-walking the declassification process.

It should be obvious 24 to 48 hours after the order went out.

Heard that a congressman can automatically declassify a document by presenting it on the floor.

“officials ... expressed private outrage that Trump and his allies in Congress were seeking to disclose secret information for what appeared to be purely political purposes.”

The real worry is that the unredacted documents will show that they were only classified in the first place for “purely political purposes.”

“Yep, but will Trump allow it?”

He’s been forced to ‘allow’ the mueller coup to go on for this long because the Repukes have threatened to impeach him if he fired mueller, rosenstein or sessions. I’m thinking if he sent sent the marines into ‘an independent branch of government’, the DOJ(That’s what the corrupt state, fakestream media and everyone at the DOJ believes), that may also rise to an impeachment level offense.

Hopefully Trump has a complete unredacted set, so he can release if the agencies are going to slow-walk the publication.

If you listen carefully to what has been said publicly, the comments suggest that President Trump has been in possession of most of the relevant documents for quite some time.

White House comments seem to indicate that President Trump has had the documents independently reviewed by one or more intelligence agencies to ensure that no legitimate National Security is released unredacted.

When these documents are released, it will be obvious that the FBI and DOJ have been using national security as an excuse to cover up their potential criminal misconduct and the perjury of high level FBI and DOJ officials in testimony to Congressional Oversight hearings and obstruct investigations into their attempted coup against Donald Trump

Is the Pope a pedophile?

Yes, clearly he is, whether directly or through those he defends.

Now back to the current thread...

If these government officials do not follow directions immediately, fire them!!!

I suppose “immediately” is subject to interpretation?

They are Democrats, Never Trumpers, and "Deep State", so yes, it is subject to interpretation. Our current example of the definition of "is".

they expressed private outrage that Trump and his allies in Congress were seeking to disclose secret information for what appeared to be purely political purposes.

But their collection and leaking the same information for purely political purposes was just fine?

Filthy traitors.

Ok, if they have not executed this order by today, the intelligence community and FBI is in a state of rebellion. Marines should be sent into the relevant buildings and immediately kill anyone who offers the slightest resistance.

I do hope to see hangings (of those found guilty). Only something like that will stop this traitorous and seditious behavior by these criminals.

If they surrender immediately, fine. Then we can have a fair trial and hang em nice and legal.
The intel community and DOJ colluding with British intel overthrowing our duly elected government needs to be met with a brutal response.

They are no different than Stasi in my eyes. Well, with one exception. The Stasi never remotely approached the level of domestic spying we experience as Americans. The Stasi collected about 900 million to a billion pages of data over it’s 40 year existence. The NSA collects that every day or two.
