You had mostly intact families at that time. Nowadays it is rampant to have broken families that let the kids do whatever they want. Paddock was a large exception in the grand scheme, but all but a few kids who commit mass murder were raised by single parents and/or experienced divorce. However, it’s politically incorrect to ever mention that fact.
