Not only Megan’s “politics” would not fit in (although they also will happily mouth leftist slogans as needed ) but also her African mother and the fact she is a nobody from America would make her quite an outsider.

Tribalism isn’t necessarily snobbery. It’s just human nature to feel most comfortable with one’s own kind. William did so, but he got lucky (and there was a lengthy audition before the wedding). Kate is not exactly Will’s tribe, but in marrying a dead-common American celebrity lacking even a nodding acquaintance with what might matter to an English nobleman, Harry married outside his entire species.
