On the full article, look at his comments on “his plans going forward” - he was in a bubble - he had no idea of the different, legitimate perspectives that existed - that women can actually be pro-life, some people do use guns for protection, etc. Those are the most profound comments he made in that entire interview - he had a culture shock.

Reminds me of one of the few libs I actually respected, the late Sen George McGovern. I remember one time he was one Bob Grant's show, talking about how he owned a couple of hotels in CT. that went under and almost put him into bankruptcy. To his everlasting credit he had the intellectual honesty to admit that had he been a businessman BEFORE getting involved in politics, many of his views would be quite different.
