President Donald Trump showed he's willing to wield a big stick in trade by levying tariffs on $200 billion more in Chinese goods, starting next week. Will this lead to a trade war without end, or bring China to the table for talks?
We've been on the record as being anti-tariff. However, as has been noted numerous times, Trump has used tariffs, and the threat of tariffs, as a way to lower overall trade barriers. At least, that's what the White House maintains, and we see no reason not to believe it. But it goes deeper than that.
As the tit-for-tat trade battle has been engaged, it's unclear which side will blink first. Will it be China, which sells over half a trillion dollars in goods to the U.S., or the U.S., whose economy depends on cheap goods and industrial inputs from China for its prosperity?
Beijing has already retaliated against Trump's announcement, saying it will add another $60 billion in U.S. goods to its own tariff list including soybeans, meat, wheat and textiles in response. Trump doubled down on China's retaliation by threatening another $267 billion in tariffs. That would bring the total to a staggering $517 billion in Chinese goods included under Trump's tariffs. That pretty much covers most of China's exports to the U.S.

China's agricultural tariffs could hurt the GOP with crucial farm-belt voters. That's important leading up to crucial midterm elections, now less than two months away. But China also spread the pain of its tariffs around, adding 5% duties on roughly 1,600 industrial goods such as airplanes, computers and textiles, and 10% levies on 3,500 other goods, including chemicals, wine and natural gas.
Who cares. China can go to he!!. Its up to them if they want to survive. We can make up any losses right here in the good old US.
China’s income stream is in jeopardy.
Trump will force a revolution from within China that will change it. Same with Iran... Venezuela.... hopefully Cuba... Puerto Rico!!!!!
Our 130 billion exports to China are chump change compared to our overall 17 trillion dollar economy. We do more export business with Canada, Mexico and the EU. China’s exports to the US surged after their entry to the WTO.China has very little leverage in a trade battle with us. The real danger to China is not loss of exports to the US but loss of jobs as American manufacturers in China exporting to the US flee China for more favorable nations and American investment in the Chinese economy dries up.Then stand back and watch their economy crash. That is why Trump was hinting that he may impose tariffs on iPhones manufactured in China as a warning shot to American manufacturers there that they may want to start considering alternative nations to manufacture.

NEWSFLASH We have been in a trade war with all countries for decades. President Trump is the first one to admit it and actually fight back. The problem is that most people have never seen a President with giant brass balls before.
All the US needs for a victory is balanced Zero-Zero trade. For the Chinese to win the US must continue to hemorrhage 600 billion a years for the next 10 years.
The US is holding a winning hand and will win if it stays the course.
the US needs to ban the children of party officials from going to school in the USA. as well the US needs to ban the chinese from investing in US high tech companies and start ups.
Oh, no! China is the ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD we can get cheap goods from. LOL
.
China hasno choice.
Their economy is crashing presently (Art Laffer) and they cannot survive without our exchange of goods.

>> “Chinas income stream is in jeopardy.” <<
To put it lightly.
But this may goad them to attack (?)
.
>> “The USA must stay the course, this is a battle which will determine World economic superiority for the next 100 years.” <<
You wish?
Yeshua will control the world’s economy, beginning in the fall of 2024.
Things are going to be happening in a big way all over, very soon. This is the 6th seal period.
.
I don’t think they’re ready for that yet.
