Ed Whelan concluded his tweetstorm saying, “To be clear, I have no idea what, if anything, did or did not happen in that bedroom at the top of the stairs, and I therefore do not state, imply or insinuate that Garrett or anyone else committed the sexual assault that Ford alleges. Further, if Ford is now mistakenly remembering Garrett to be Kavanaugh, I offer no view whether that mistaken remembrance dates from the gathering or developed at some point in the intervening years.”
Feinstein is refusing to give Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley the unredacted letter Christine Ford sent Senate Democrats in July further fueling suspicions there is exculpatory evidence in the letter.

And I will state the oblique opposite. That I did NOTHING like this in the same time period juxtaposed by Ford precisely because - like Kavanaugh - living a life proper is a proper life.
In fact, Ford's confabulation is so much like her contemporary Jennifer Jason Leigh's dénouement in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (Universal Pictures, 1982) that I'm genuinely puzzled why no commentator has made that connection...yet.

I read at one media outlet which stated that she was wearing a "bathing suit". Well, that is like saying that you are at work wearing "underwear". Of course she said in her letter (apparently) that she was wearing a bathing suit with clothing over it, just as you would be at work wearing underwear with clothing over it. The left lies all the time so this is no different.

Summary:None of the people allegedly at the alleged party lived near the Country Club. So if the number of people at the party was correct, it makes little sense to believe that the list of people allegedly at the location were all there.To revert over to sanity about “recovered memory,” false memories are a dime a dozen. Whenever we recall something, we go through a thought process - with the result that the memory very easily gets adjusted in the process of recall. An event from 1982 recalled in 2012 - in the psychoanalysis session - would very easily be distorted by the simple act of the analysis innocently questioning to elicit recall. But at the point where Ms. Ford “recalled” - not in 2012 but recently - that Judge Kavenaugh was at the party, the fact that she recalled that Mark Judge was at the party made it easy to jump the rails and finger Judge Kavenaugh as the perp.OTOH Mark Judge’s friend - and Kavenaugh’s classmate and teammate - Chris Garrett did live in a house near the Country club which fits the described memory.
And Chris Garret and Brett Kavenaugh were doppelgängers.
This analysis does not assume that Chris Garrett or anyone necessarily did exactly what Ms. Ford alleges. But it readily explains quite a lot of the “memory.” Beer might explain some of it, too.

How can DiFi refuse to turn over the letter to the Committee Chairman? And why would it need to be redacted? To take out the names of the people that Ford actually accused?
