There is no statute of limitations on sexual assault felonies in the state of Maryland. There is a statute of limitations on filing a civil suit in such cases.

I see. But there is always the “she says she was drunk, and I was so drunk that I don’t remember what happened myself. We just don’t know - and what difference, at this point, does it make?”

Reflects no credit on anyone, to be sure - but there it is. The state of Maryland can attempt a prosecution - and attempt to get an all-female jury . . .

But then, what is the motive to prosecute the case against Garrett - that is to say, to prove that Kavenaugh was innocent?

No, I think Garrett is safe.
