Trump just spoke up about the whole situation. Really stupid IMO. I wonder what is happening behind the scenes. Why are we viciously fighting back when quite frankly there is no evidence against BK?
Whether Whalen regrets it or not, he got his point across last night. Chris Garrett is a legit look-alike. There is reasonable doubt on so many fronts about Ford’s 36 year old complete about some awkward drunk groping. She should be ashamed to have used it as excuse for infidelity in marital counseling, should never have brought it up against Kavanaugh. Further, others say it never happened anyway. Bottom line, what are we to make of underage drunk kids from 36 years ago? Do we hold that over them or look at what they’ve done with their lives since? I say the latter and suggest Senators get back to their jobs and confirm Kavanaugh to the supreme court.

I think you are right. Whalen’s tweet did go a bit far in naming the look-alike to Brett. In retrospect, it may have been better to let Kavanaugh’s lawyers in on the information and they could evaluate whether and how to utilize it when Ford appears.
Whalen’s theory does have merit, however. Personally, I think some incident happened, but nothing as bad a Ford is saying. Perhaps it is mistaken identity. Even so, it was probably a case of teenagers petting, and she got sacred. She was only 15 years old and should not have been drinking and at a party with two older boys who were only 17.
It is a tempest in a tea pot, and is only being resurrected to stop Kavanaugh.
More importantly, they have established that Ford will selectively remember details when it helps her story. Before she really couldn't remember much. Now she is sure that she would not confuse the two guys - at least one of whom she may never have met before.
Of course Ford will also have time to prepare her answers based on the new information. That is why she wants the investigation, and she wants to testify last.
She willingly attended a beer party with four high school boys in the house. Certainly she drank as much beer as the others, after all it was a beer party. I suspect none of them recall much. That’s if such a party really did happen, which I doubt.

Honestly, there is very scant evidence that an “assault” even occurred. It’s her word a dm that’s it. No police report. No report to parents. No corroboration by classmates. No address or date. No positive ID of others at the “party.” No revelation of the “assault” by the claimant to anyone, not even her husband. Then the “assault” emerges in discussions 30 years later with her therapist suggesting it was a “repressed memory” which are often conjured up out of thin air. The facts written down by her therapist six years ago don’t even jibe with what she is saying today.
What is claimed is so out of character for Kavanaugh that it is improbable. Six FBI investigations revealed no history of alcohol abuse.
So, did something actually happen? I’m inclined to believe it is a story fabricated out of whole cloth.

We have rules (laws, actually) about this for a reason.
Actually, she was not raped, she may or may not have been groped by a teenage boy, and everything she has said may just be a fantasy, or a false memory, or a misinterpretation of one of many drunken moments at a wild party.
We do know that drinking, partying, fooling around with guys and passing out drunk were part of the accepted social activities in her school. Their own yearbook states that most of them won't be able to remember what happened at the parties they went to.
No, he's not. They don't look at all alike other than they both look like white guys with the same early 80s hairstyle and the same yearbook pose. You could find 50 other guys in that yearbook who look just as similar.

Are we sure Whalen didn’t run it past Garrett,the look a like, and get an OK to publish with the plan of then pulling it back? If Whalen is as straight an arrow as has been said he never would have sandbagged Garrett.
