If we aren’t going to assume Kavanaugh’s guilt, we have to be willing to challenge Ford’s story. Christine Blasey Ford deserves a hearing, although at the moment it’s not clear if she really wants one. What she doesn’t deserve is to be believed automatically just because she’s a woman making an accusation.
At its best, our system of justice judges each individual — the accuser and the accused — on the basis of the evidence and with an adversarial process that has proved over the centuries to be the best way to ascertain the truth.
The problem is that Ford’s accusation doesn’t seem particularly provable, and the Democratic-media complex isn’t very interested in proving it. It wants to take her truthfulness as a given, as a matter of cosmic and gender equity.
“I believe the survivor,” says Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal. It would be accurate for him to say, “I believe Ford is a survivor.” But the point is to take rhetorical and political advantage of her alleged victimhood before it has been established — indeed, to use her assumed victimhood to foreclose any serious questioning of whether she is a victim or not.
We’re seeing, in effect, the importation of the kangaroo court colleges use to adjudicate such cases to the United States Senate.
With no independent knowledge of whether Ford’s account is true, Blumenthal is a hanging judge. “This nomination will not only cast a shadow over Judge Kavanaugh, if he were ever to be confirmed,” he says, “it will also stain the United States Supreme Court irreparably.”
There you have it. The court weathered Roger Taney, but will be forever besmirched by Brett Kavanaugh.

Those who believe this story simply because they believe she is telling the truth are, by definition, misandrists.
Can’t we get rid of Hawaii?

The allegation is 36 years old.
She can't say when it happened.
She can't say where it happened.
She has no witnesses.
She has no evidence.
This whole thing is a joke and she should be laughed at until she goes away.
Hold the vote!
The same party who told us to move on from legitimate assault and even rape allegations involving their pervert in chief. How convenient they forget all this.
On a related note to this article, I really believe our culture is treading in dangerous waters in terms of women being able to make all kinds of allegations and getting the presumption of the charges being true by default. Of course there are real cases of assault and rape and those should be prosecuted in the most stringent ways possible once the charges are proved true.
But the media are acting as the court by publicizing these allegations in the most unbalanced ways possible, which is how we ended up with the Rolling Stone and the Duke Lacrosse team fiascoes.
Here’s what I know.
Democrats do not care about Ford. They will dump her as soon as her usefulness is expended.
Democrats do not care about women, and more than they care about minorities or illegal immigrant families, beyond their usefulness at the polls.
Democrats do not care about morality, or necessarily about rape, or black lives matter, or money in politics, or any other feigned moral outrage. To Democrats, these are merely tools in the toolbox to leverage votes and power.
This may be captain obvious level here, but only thing Democrats are trying to do is to create confusion and cast such doubt to throw the whole process into disarray and delay a vote and thus sink the nomination.
That’s all they care about. Not Ford, not any moral component, not “believing women”. These are mere tactics to destroy this nomination. That Republicans in the Senate seem unable to move past this obvious state of affairs is especially troubling.
The longer they drag this out, the more likely Democrats will succeed. All they have to do is peel off the weak RINO sisters and a Corker or Flake and it’s over.

So, if “recovered memories” from 35 years ago with no verifiable details of something that isn’t even a crime deserve a hearing, what is the standard of something that doesn’t deserve a hearing?
A bad dream about Kavanaugh someone’s kid had?
Some Star Trek fan fiction about Kavanaugh harassing Nurse Chapel?
A “Weekly World News” article about Kavanaugh assisting space aliens with their abductions?
A couple of months ago the left was saying gender is a social construct. Now they say WOMEN must be believed. But I thought there was no such thing as genders. Make up my mind will ya.

We have not seen FOrd. Anyone elese would be on TV. There would be reporters following her home. You would see footage. Not her. She is hiding in a democrat safe house. So they can delay the Senate. Thats all they want. Ford is not talking to the Senate. The democrat party lawyers are. This is not a real story. Its a democrat ploy. Its all about the delay and the election. Nothing happened 36 years ago.
We said “Monday” - it needs to be Monday. Then call the vote and vote.
She’s had over 30 years to go over her story - she’s ‘ready’ to testify. If she doens’t show - CALL THE VOTE.
Blasey Ford deserves a hearing?
Why? Even if what she says is true, it is utterly irrelevant.
After 35 years and with the timing of this whole charade, we do not have to assume she is telling the truth. She’s had multiple opportunities in her life to bring this to someones attention. After 35 years, the burden of proof lies even more on her, her word is meaningless at this point. She hasn’t even officially filed anything on this incident, that there proves Kav’s innocence.
Move on.org itself is saying listen to her, such a hypocritical sham
They want to push this into the next month so he doesn’t get seated before the new court hearings begin

Women were paraded out one at a time. They put up their act while being questioned. Outside, were they consoling each other? No, they were having a grand time, gossiping, giggling, imbibing in mimosas.
Exactly. Any criticism of her always includes the obligatory “She needs to be heard”. The left has shrewdly created an environment where the right has to couch their narratives in apologetic and defensive terms to ‘prove’ they are not bigots.
