Peddling is made illegal to protect the tax paying businesses. Watch sales tax revenue plummet and food borne illness rates to skyrocket.

food borne illness rates would quickly put the street vendor out of business so it’s in his best interest to serve food that brings people back to buy more.
In contrast the state health department calls the local restaurant a week in advance at least and lets them know they have an inspection coming up soon. The restaurant then gets things up to speed and a serious housecleaning is had by all for the next week. They pass with flying colors, pay the fee and all is well..... Until someone gets sick. Are the inspectors heard accountable? Is the state? Nope. Just another way for them to generate revenue through permits, fees and fines.

I say if the street vendors don’t need permits and inspections than restaurants shouldn’t either.

except Riverside county has made roadside peddling illegal for years. The power should remain with the counties not with some airhead who lets his wife run the state into the ground.
