Mexican word of the day is Beto. “If you want to keep your guns, Beto vote for Cruz.”

Hope you don't mind if I use this. LOL

Who won?

I think conservatives would say Cruz. Liberals would say Irish Bob. Folks in between?

I would think the constant harping on ‘I’m a lucky white guy with lots of privileges no black man gets’ would grate on most Texans. I’m in Arizona, but I doubt Texas is a stronghold of “I hate myself for being white, or even for being not black” feeling.

Cruz was on point tonight! Sadly most Texans are at Friday Night Football games.

“Yes, Cruz wants to deport every last illegal “

Bullsh!t.

He has never said that, and in fact HAS said that he would legalize the illegals in place.

Cruz did well, but objectively, so did O’Rourke. He held his own against a seasoned debater. And he’s pushing the “we are one” theme....that squishy nonsense more than a few voters like.

In the last election my Mom voted in (pushing 80), she voted for Bill Clinton. I asked her why. She said, “Bob Dole has mean eyebrows!”

Apart from Ronald Reagan, she never voted for a Republican in her life. Some people will be what they will be.

I don’t think Cruz smashed Irish Bob. I think he was obviously superior in terms of policy, but as always, he comes across as the smart kid in the class talking down. I voted for Cruz in the 2016 primary. I’m now glad he lost. He’s smart. Makes a good senator. But no leadership skills and no charisma.

I’d be thrilled to get to vote for someone as conservative as he is. Won’t happen in Arizona! But his personality is a turn off. If my Mom was still alive, she’d probably vote for Irish Bob because Ted Cruz has a big nose. Or doesn’t smile right.

Happily, the time I spent at Ft Hood in the 90s makes me think most Texans are smarter than my Mom. Good woman, good Mom, but she voted Democrat from FDR on.

It is a meme with a funny picture of a Mexican guy in a sombrero, I just didn’t take the time to find it. I love all the “mexican word of the day” memes.

Sigh. So it is like Kennedy/Nixon then? (Nixon won among those polled from radio listeners. Kennedy won with TV viewers.)

We escaped from California to Texas because of the general craziness there-the land of fruits. flakes and nuts. Where I lived the voter registration was 75 percent democrat and 25 percent republican. We live in Williamson County the red wall against the city of Austin. Texans, get out and vote for Ted Cruz. He did a nice job in the debate showing Beto for what he represents.

That faux Latino O’Rourke talks a good game, but his soul has already been sold.

And so cheaply, too. What can Chuck Schumer possibly give him that he was not already far better off as a Representative in the US House?

No need to be so harsh. Wanting secondhand thoughts till I am able to view on youtube myself. Also appreciate how Texans see things in particular.
