It shows you how much work needs to be done and how we need way higher tariffs. The trade deficit is worse now than in 2015.

NAFTA cleaned our clock. Our exports to Canada and Mexico plunged right out of the gate, while our imports shot up like a rocket to Mars. It was insane.

Beyond that, the international financiers have insured we are being gutted like a fish.

I grew up in the 1960s. All through my grade school learning, I learned that America became wealthy by exporting far more than she imported.

Then the idiots of modern finance tried to convince me that the FIRE economy was better for America than the 50’s economy, when we were the world’s manufacturer.

A child can tell you that when you import far more than you export, your nation is one day going to go broke. Unless you are the world’s banker, which we are. That is what kept us afloat.

Free trade sucks. When a nation like China is cleaning your clock, best thing you can to is a trade war. If not a single solitary item was sold between the US and China, we would be FAR better off.

Because it shows you what Trump is trying to fix. It shows you how we were being taken to the cleaners under Baby Bush, Bill Clinton, and Daddy Bush. In fact, this goes back to Reagan.

In 1983, our trade deficit was $69 billion.
In 1984, our trade deficit exploded to $123 billion. Almost double.

Even Reagan sold us out to the international industrialists, finaniciers, and power brokers.

Look how our exports plunge right after Reagan takes office, and then again right after Baby Bush takes office.

China has been cleaning our clock since Daddy Bush took office.

Every republican until Trump went along with it...The Limbaugh,Hannity,NRO,WSJ and all of them. They repeated the same talking points that had no basis in facts while supporting death and destruction overseas. Cruz didn’t defend the Trump Tariffs very well last night and basically repeated the same failed free trade, opening markets BS for a select few corporate interests and specialty exporters like Pecans that are a ridiculous drain on resources to produce.

The “trade deficit” number in of itself is not what is bad - it is if we open our market up without reciprocation from the other side. That is not going to be reflected in the raw “trade deficit” number. Goods merely coming into the country is an exchange of wealth, not a loss of wealth. If the goods we are receiving are worth more than what is being paid, then they have a trade deficit with us, not the other way around.

The “trade deficit” can also increase merely because we are buying more goods in general across the board - even if their share of the market were to decrease. There have been recent spikes in the trade deficit even with the tariffs because our own economy is doing well and people are buying more products across the board. That is reality.

Ever notice how Free Traitors™ never seem to have the time to comment on threads that expose with cold facts that “Free Trade” is a myth and BS?

Absolutely true. They ALL sold us out. We have no representation. That is why I am baffled they let Trump get elected, and also why I am certain he will be assassinated.

They all sold us out. The GOP leadership is completely in bed with the New World Order and one world government. They have all sold us out for decades. Maybe for 100 years or more.

You are exactly right. Which is why in the long run, we are screwed. Commie Democrats or greedy Republicans. Who cares? They both want totalitarian socialist oppression for us. We are doomed in the long run. It is baked into the cake.

Yes, the trade deficit dollars are bad in and of themselves. Period.

If we constantly send $500 billion dollars a year more overseas than they put back into the American economy, it becomes a permanent drain on our economy and we eventually go broke.

You can’t see this?

I grant you the details matter. It goes much quicker if our GDP is $501 billion than if it is $5,001 billion. But the damage is still the same. We are going broke because we are losing far more than we are gaining.

that comment is only accurate if you believe goods do not have the value of what is being paid for them.

We have had enough of your nastiness and refusal to acknowledge obvious truths.

There is a Fascist coupe in progress and and I am not going to spend any more time trying to pound some truths into your head. I have had enough insults and accusations for the time-being.

You have to give everyone some more opportunities to go after me.

So $850B does’t matter? What is the deficit was $2T? Would it matter then? When would it matter?
