Washington (CNN)Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley agreed late Friday night to allow the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault more time to decide whether to testify before Congress.
Apparently (per the article) the new deadline is 2:30 PM Saturday. God only knows if Grassley and the committee actually mean it this time.

The first two questions I would ask if I were sitting on that committee is, "Have any payments or promises of positions or promotions or anything of else value been offered to you in exchange for accusing Judge Kavanaugh?," and, "List all of the people and or political organizations that you have colluded or communicated with concerning accusations against Judge Kavanaugh up to the time of this hearing. Did any of them approach you before you sent your letter?" This would raise holy hell in the media, but it would be fun to watch her squirm.

I'm operating under the assumption that anything Brett Kavanaugh states publicly is either (1) verifiably true, or (2) not verifiably false by any objective measure.
If he gets on the stand and is questioned about her, I fully expect him to say: "Yes, her name sounds familiar and I've probably met her. I never did any such thing to her, though. And I know that because I've never done any such thing to ANYONE."
As soon as the allegation was made and Buzzy Ford came out of the shadows, Kavanaugh immediately issued an adamant denial and offered to testify in his defense -- anytime, anywhere. Buzzy Ford, meanwhile, demanded to be heard but then immediately hired a legal team that has been making excuses for her NOT to appear and tell her story. Their insistence that Kavanaugh testify first -- a stance that is laughable in any legal/government process -- exposed her as a lunatic at best and a liar at worst.
Nailed it. Grassley would be foolish to allow Kavanaugh to testify, (so you can book it to happen). He should simply repeat his emphatic denial, in writing, nothing more.

A committee member should never ask a question unless he already knows the answer to it.
The questions themselves are always the biggest indicator of what information is out there behind the scenes, and -- more importantly -- who knows about it.
I think that's exactly what's going to happen. But I wonder if Grassley is a little smarter than we give him credit for. Could it be that giving in to her delay tactics prevents her from going on 60 Minutes or making any national appearance with a complicit media bucking her up? We know she doesn't want to testify first because of the possibility of slipping up and making statements that could be proven to be untrue. If Grassley says too late - we're voting, it would be "Katie bar the door".
I also think they should forego the committee vote and go straight to the full vote. Don't give them time for more sabotage.

There’s only been one impeachment of a Supreme Court Justice in the early 1800’s and he was acquitted in the Senate.

At worst, he did what every male teenager tries at some point or other, but his reputed character even casts doubt upon that. He is reported to be the "designated driver" type. And one who seemed to have his lifelong goals in mind at even a young age, not to be ruined by something like this.
As irritating and disgusting as this democrat assault on the process of confirming a SC Justice is, I can understand that there are elements of the Grassley approach that we are not privy to. Sen Grassley coordinates with Sen McConnell because the final step is the vote of the whole senate. The one positive element in all of this leftist lying and just plain BS is that the American public is also watching and learning. Men in particular are watching women in high office, public and govt, attack them at every opportunity and often gratuitously. Men are now targeted as molesters and sex offenders if they get anywhere near a female. They are being warned and I hope they take immediate heed.
What happens if Judge isn’t confirmed before Oct 1? Can he be confirmed after? Can he hear cases after SC resumes? Is the Oct 1st date a critical date?
Republican men aren’t good at hard ball questions to a woman. They will probably ask, so tell us about yourself, your family, your degrees. Bleh.
I'm predicting this is exactly what is going to happen. The GOP is NOT going to get any input from her before the vote. This is their strategy. It really doesn't matter what Grassley et al do so they might as well just confirm him and let us, the Trump voters, carry them through the elections. If they don't it will be a disaster for them.
I missed the LinkedIn connection. What about Chris Garrett, the look-alike who’s house it is suggested this happened in? What about her history with the PGA? I have no reason to doubt Judge Kavanaugh and every reason to doubt Ford. Bottom line is 36 years without a claim beyond one to excuse infidelity at marital counseling. She’s had a full life of partying, travel, and relationships. Nothing suggests she was traumatized by this, that she gave it a passing thought until it became a tool to beat Republicans and Trump and, yes, Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Too convenient by far.
With Grassley vacillating, it plays into their plan B.
I would tell them to show up in 2019 if that works for her but the vote will be held on September 24 2018.
