Democrats have abandoned the presumption of innocence
The New York Post ^ | Sep 20, 2018 | Rich Lowrey

Christine Blasey Ford deserves a hearing, although at the moment she doesn’t seem to want one. What she doesn’t deserve is to be believed automatically because she’s a woman making an accusation.

When our system of justice is at its best, it judges each individual — the accuser and the accused — fairly, on the basis of the evidence, and with an adversarial process that has proved over the centuries the best way to ascertain the truth.

Ford’s charge is serious by any standard, and despite the shameful way it was handled — Dianne Feinstein sat on it for weeks, until it leaked out at the 11th hour — Republicans appropriately agreed to delay a committee vote and hear from both Ford and Kavanaugh at an open hearing.

The problem is that Ford’s accusation doesn’t seem particularly provable — an alleged incident 36 years ago, with few details to check against — and the Democratic media isn’t very interested in proving it. It wants to take Ford’s truthfulness as a given, as matter of cosmic and gender equity.

“I believe the survivor,” Sen. Blumenthal says of Ford. It would be accurate for him to say, “I believe she is a survivor,” since we don’t know the truth of her allegation. (snip)

What we’re seeing, in effect, is the importation of the infamous kangaroo-court apparatus for adjudicating sexual-harassment and assault cases from college campuses — which often denies the accused basic protections of due process — to the US Senate.

Without having any independent knowledge of whether Ford’s account of Kavanaugh allegedly attempting to rape her is true, Blumenthal is still a hanging judge: “This nomination will not only cast a shadow over Judge Kavanaugh, if he were ever to be confirmed, it will also stain the Supreme Court irreparably.”

Rationale observers recognize that what is going on is a travesty of the rule of law, fairness, and acceptable parliamentary procedures. We are seeing what the Communists did in the midst of their Revolution. In other words, typical Democrat behavior.

Will the public decide that this is acceptable, or not?

Not surprising. They abandoned the Constitution decades ago.

My wife just asked the same question: "Why is Ford allowed to do this with no evidence?"

My answer was "Evidence is only for convicting. Ford does not want or need a conviction - she only needs to smear Kavanaugh enough to change the Senate vote."

No more effing around with the left on this. They’ve delayed as long as can be tolerated. It’s time to vote on confirmation. Git er done.

So Cory Booker and Keith Ellison are both guilty.

No! You are already guilty if accused and ONLY if you are a republican conservative.

Keith Ellison has done worse, but no big deal.

It is worse for black conservatives, such as Clarence Thomas.

“I believe the survivor,” Sen. Blumenthal says of Ford.

Someone tell Sen. Blumenthal that Sen. Hirono of Hawaii has ordered all men to SHUT UP! He stood behind Hirono and heard her. SHUT UP! Men are the problem, especially WHITE men said the foreign born Hirono!

Republicans still think this is about due process, presumption of innocence, #MeToo, and other ideals.

It's not.

Liberals recognize that Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court will be catastrophic for liberalism. The know that everything is at stake. That is why they are fighting hard and fighting dirty.

We need to understand this if we are to counter it.

Of course, but the Senate does not include 60 Republicans, and several of them are Democrats in Republican clothing. Keeping the four wobbly Republicans on the Reservation is not easy. I think that at least three of them will vote for confirmation, regardless of what happens with this ditsy professor.

This entire drama is a pre-planned, orchestrated scam

Just like the coup against President Trump, this scam wouldn’t have a chance without the massive assistance of our left stream news media.

Demonic-Rats are entirely insulated from scorn and all serious questions regarding their veracity because the media are totally supportive! In fact, most media talking heads are huge cheerleaders, with several offering legal opinions favoring the accuser!

There is no presumption of innocence for Straight White Men.

Just look at what those Democrats did to Bill Clinton.

Agree, they have no intention of letting her testify under oath. Their original plan was an anonymous allegation, and when her name leaked, they thought that the Washington Post article would take out Kavanaugh. Delay is the only arrow left in their quiver and as long as a committee vote is taken some time next week, this will be over.
