Westwood One is shaking up its weekday afternoon Conservative Talk block in January 2019.
Michael Savage’s “The Savage Nation” will cut back from three hours to one hour daily from 3-4pm eastern while Ben Shapiro takes over the 4-6pm slot. Cumulus launched Ben Shapiro on six stations in April including a live clearance on 770 WABC New York and delayed clearances on WMAL Washington DC, WLS Chicago, WYAY Atlanta, and KABC Los Angeles. The live show will be separate from Shapiro’s daily podcast.
It is that daily podcast/live broadcast model that Savage will switch to. He will host the daily afternoon show as well as a separate daily podcast in January.
Obviously subtle humor is not your strong suit.
I do not listen much anymore - but I tune in at least briefly everyday. However:
I have indeed heard such statements. They are always carefully qualitative qnd tentative, so that he can walk it back anyway and anytime: too isolated from the glaringly over-arching history of the RNC at least since Reagan.
He is a gifted and innovative broadcaster, but he is too disingenuous for me. I feel my intelligence is insulted by his sly excuses for RINOs who have no authentic conservatism in their hearts.
Are you saying you have not heard his oft-repeated excuses?
A. They are just running afraid of the media calling them names.
B. They do not understand that real conservatism wins elections.
We must agree to disagree on Rush’s level of understanding and dissimulation. But no one can tell me I am not intimately acquainted with Limbaugh on the air.

Read the article you posted - there is no “slobbering” over Romney - the overwhelming majority of the article is negative comments about Obama with far fewer positive things about Romney.

What do you disagree with in any of those videos where he demolishes false leftist narratives? Where do you get any “hatred” of conservatives?
His reaction to Trump’s candidacy was the same as a huge number of us right here on his forum. His reaction to the Presidency of Trump has been one of being very pleasantly surprise at how many genuinely conservative policies he has been able to implement - more not only than we expected of him but more than we would have expected of any Republican president, period. Shapiro advises when he agrees with Trump and advises when he disagrees with Trump. He didn’t do a 180 and just start praising everything Trump does to further his career, etc.

Once upon a time... that was a small family owned station with the call letters KIEV. And the venerable George Putnam had a weekday show from noon ‘til 2.
George was of the same generation as Ronald Reagan and was his personal friend. George was the original conservative populist and I can’t think of anything where he and Donald Trump diverge.
Then along came Salem Radio, who purchased the station and replaced George with Michael Medved. And Hugh Hewitt. And that’s all that needs to be said.
Time will tell - I’m not sure his format translates well to radio. His style is more being challenged by leftists on a college campus or a leftist talking head on cable TV and then responding and demolishing the very premise of their argument...he’s very quick on his feet.

I immediately changed the channel.
In my book, Shapiro is and will always be a never-Trumper.

Ben Stein not only says he will NEVER vote for Trump, he says it is because he is morally superior to Trump.
He is good when he goes out to campuses for a speech or a debate, that is his element, but I tried to listen to his radio show and just found him annoying
I like Andrew Klavan better, he has a good voice for radio
When Romney was running for president, Shapiro said how great he was and how Romney was absolutely certain to win the election.
After Romney was defeated, and it didn’t matter any more, Shapiro did a flip flop and said he did not support Romney.
When Trump was running for president Shapiro constantly attacked him and said he was certain to lose.
Shapiro said many of the same things about Trump that Romney said. Shapiro made one dishonest attack on Trump after another. He did all he could to get Trump to lose.
Now after Trump has won the election, Shapiro again did a flip flop. He no longer attacks Trump and his supporters as much as he did and even pretends to agree with them.
My point is simple. Shapiro sabotaged Trump during the election. He showed contempt for Trump supporters.
It is no longer expedient for Shapiro to insult Trump supporters. He is promoting his career. But Shapiro is phony who despises conservatives and President Trump.
George was a staple in our house growing up. My Dad was a conservative Democrat just like George. But we all listened.
I remember once George said we would find another Lincoln:^)

Its sad what KIEV has become, now I just listen to the PATRIOT or Sean H.
I realize President Trump is not perfect.
I wish he was but he is not.
However, Trump is all we have to prevent the corrupt leftists from taking over.
Never Trumpers like Ben Shapiro will flip flop on most issues and say Republicans must lose to prove they are principled.
That’s was a nice little gift, brings back memories.
Now I know where to find it.
