They kept the plane for a while (I can’t remember how long). DiFi said something to the effect that she was apologizing for the whole country. This was early in the first GWB Admin. We know what a mess that whole fiasco was, with the AlGore mess, then Jumpin Jim Jeffords, then 9/11 happened and it was a whole new ballgame.
