All American young men. God bless them.
That was SOP when I was growing up in the midwest .. still happens often around here in central PAlabama.
Not everyone is a Kaepernick, thank goodness.
Their parents did a great job!

As it should be.
Fantastic!
For some reason unbeknownst to me, the University of Washington (my alma mater) marching band does an absolutely wonderful patriotic job at football games. Before the players come onto the field (they are in the locker room as has been the tradition for as long as I can remember), the band plays “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “America the Beautiful” (while rolling out a flag that covers about 10% of the field), then “The Star-spangled Banner” as soon as the flag is totally unfurled. Even though USSR-WA is run by Democrats / Liberals / Socialists / Communists, it is nice to see at least one bright spot!
Happens at every sporting event at high school games I attend in New Hampshire. As far as you can see all activity on all fields stops and players, parents, and students are saluting.
At my private university with its 25k student body in the early seventies, the national anthem played each morning. The entire campus would silently freeze in place for the duration and those who were in sight of the flag would put hand over heart or salute. Don’t know if that is still the case. I would hope so.
God bless these young men. So nice to read some GOOD news for a change...
It’s the Twilight Zone. Mayfield, USA, 1959, the Beaver, Wally and Lumpy on their way to the malt shop for a coke date with Mary Ellen Rogers.
Anybody that still wonders what we are up against...
just check out the comments after the article on that site...
It SICKENS me to realize they are from my fellow Americans!
There should never be pictures or video of things like this - BECAUSE THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THE SAME THING.
Why does someone with a camera get a pass on respecting the event, because they are recording someone else behaving properly?
There is a restaurant chain, Mission BBQ that stops all activity at noon, asks customers to stand and salute the flag as the National Anthem is played.
I don’t go often, but when I do, I try to be there a bit before noon.
Besides that, the food is great too.
