If you truly mean it, NEVER apologize about stuff like this.He probably didn't think he'd lose his job and his ability to provide for his family over it.
This is how fascist regimes take over. They make opposing them too costly. Eventually, people become resigned and tired and fall in step.
It's easier to stand resolute when you have nothing to lose. Put a roof over your head, a mortgage, a couple of car payments, and a family to provide for and you might think, "I just want to keep my job."
Particularly when there's nobody on your side fighting for you.
Republicans are letting Kavanaugh swing in the wind right now. Do you think they're going to stand up for this guy?

And that goes right along with proper etiquette, table manners, personal conduct in public, PERSONAL HYGIENE, correct and respectful demeanor in the presence of your elders and betters.... etc.
None of that exists with young people.
