Federal judge asks whether Trump's ‘America First’ agenda is being used to camouflage racial animus

A federal judge in San Francisco is asking whether President Trump’s “America first” agenda is camouflage for racial hostility.

U.S. District Judge Edward Chen on Tuesday heard arguments over whether the Trump administration should be blocked from rolling back parts of George H.W. Bush-era humanitarian policy that offers foreign nationals U.S. residency from dangerous countries, Bloomberg reported.

Roughly 300,000 people from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Sudan could be deported if the Trump administration is successful in overturning sections of the policy, the news outlet noted.

Chen noted a memo authored by former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Deputy Secretary Elaine Duke that stated the Temporary Protected Status policy “must end for these countries soon” in order for the country's immigration policies to be compliant the president’s “America first” agenda, according to Bloomberg.

The federal judge then pressed a Justice Department attorney, Adam Kirschner, about whether the president’s slogan phrase was being used to camouflage immigration policies some perceive to be discriminatory, it added.

He also reportedly referred to Trump’s alleged past references to countries like Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries.”

“The inference plaintiffs make is that this is code for ending immigration status for those who are non-white. What do you make of that?” Chen asked.

In response, Kirschner pointed out that the policy in question came from Duke and John Kelly, the former DHS secretary and current White House chief of staff, who have not been accused racial discrimination.

I read the first sentence, said “of course he is”, and read no further. What happens in Gay Gay San Francisco is no concern of mine.

Do you think this judge has a “Law First” agenda, maybe we need to question if that is racial hostility. Since Blacks make up 38% of Federal Prisoners, it should looks like there is a problem judge!

The inference that much of America makes is that you're overstepping your judicial role in a clumsy attempt to denigrate sane immigration policies with your own myopic agenda.  What do you make of that ?, tomkat asks.

If you wanna play politics and lecture folks on your SJW proclivities, hang up the robe and run for office.

Edward Chen is a racist POS with a hugely inflated sense of self worth.

It should be. The travel ban was halted by district judges. Although that’s not the way it’s supposed to be.

Here's a pic of the little creep:

I wonder how many "meetings" he and Oblowhole had before he was appointed?

USofA had various races already here at it’s founding so, no an America First focus for our country is not racist. It’s about taking care of our citizens (helping see that they are abiding by laws and guidelines of being responsible citizens etc) before trying to take care of illegals or the rest of the world.

this judge seems to have not learned USA early history well or is just plain ignoring it, which makes me wonder if he is truly educated properly and qualified enough to judge justly and impartially?

Rule by judicial fiat. The is the brass ring for the left.

The judge’s thoughts are not on American history or even justice ... the judge is very likely more concerned with what he’ll wear (or, rather, not wear) to the Folsom Street Fair this weekend. ... Leave that judicial robe at home, judge-baby!

Bush-era humanitarian policy that offers foreign nationals U.S. residency from dangerous countries...
Roughly 300,000 people from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Sudan could be deported...
He also reportedly referred to Trump’s alleged past references to countries like Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries.”

So their "dangerous" home countries are SO universally bad that they can come here in violation of US laws... and a US President can issue policies to help them circumvent those laws... but another US President cannot call their countries a bad name... or else he is "racist". Got it.

So... Are the "migrants" racist for leaving their dangerous countries?

(Historical note: not once, in 160 years of existence, has the GOP ever been the force behind a race-based law. ALL have come from the Democrat Party. Slavery, Jim Crow, Affirmative Action, quotas, set-asides, etc... ALL from the Democrats... and yet they continue to project and pretend that it is the other side that wants racially divisive laws.)

These judges are treating foreigners residing abroad as though they were US citizens and then applying "disparate impact" legal principles to the case.

Wholly contrary to established law.

They should be arrested for abuse of authority.

Apart from the obvious Asian ancestry he and George Takei appear to have a lot in common.
