I get that, but here is my take: This story only has legs in the court of public opinion. And that only matters with Kavanaugh.
These guys are not going for high public office. Their friends would just laugh at this.
And there is no way this is ever becoming a criminal investigation. It doesn’t warrant it and never will. It would require a court of law, and that means all sorts of witnesses regarding repressed memories, false memories, the severity of what REALLY happened, etc.
Kavanaugh is exonerated because it wasn’t him. And I doubt there is not a member of congress that is not “guilty” of the things he’s actually admitted to.
Yeah, I suppose you’re right. If those two ever were thinking of public office, they both can now perish the thought!
