I know a federal judge who was nominated for the 10th circuit. He was aggressively recruited by the Bush administration because he was a great legal mind and had a stellar, clean background. As soon as his name hit the papers, this same crap started on him. Bush’s people didn’t back him up and he withdrew. He wasn’t going to put his family through it.
That is one of the good things here. Trump is stubborn, angry, fighting back, and loyal. He values loyalty, so he is giving it.
Kavanaugh appears to be willing to tough it it no matter what. The good thing is that the claims become more and more outlandish each day.
I really believe they expected him or Trump to cut and run. Instead, they have dug foxholes and stacked ammunition.
