"Trump said if the Senate chokes he will announce the new nominee ten minutes later."
Not that any more political talk will matter, if Judge Kavanaugh is rejected. But it would be mildly interesting for curiosity's sake to find out whether or not the President could be duped by the horde of bipartisan harridans to choose another English Civil War.
Looking forward to the celebration in the event of the right choice being made in the Senate but ready to prep for the collapse if not, too.
Republicans of the political/regulator class should choose to confirm the appointment of Judge Kavanaugh. But if not, we'll deal with the possible final step of the judicial coup and the atrocities to follow if necessary.
A politically correct, affirmative action kind of nomination would be unwise, indeed.

"Trump said if the Senate chokes he will announce the new nominee ten minutes later."
And, if the GOP maintains control of the Senate, I would hope they will forever scrap this hearing circus in favor of a submission of written questions and answers.
Thank the Democrats for ending another senate "tradition."

If Manchin wins re-election, the best thing he can do is switch parties and tell Chuckie to go pound sand.

Correct! Democrats are innocent even if proven guilty!
Did Teddy Kennedy serve one day in prison for drowning a WOMAN while driving drunk?
Did B J Clinton receive any punishment for SEVERAL ALLEGED attacks on women and subordinates, including rape?

There will be enough yea votes for confirmation or a nay vote from voters in the midterms. We've seen enough to know that there will be no rule of law without the appointment of Kavanaugh.
Allowing those goddess-worshiping harpies to take over our government and act as puppets for wanna-be rulers of the world will be the decisive error committed by the effete, bipartisan political/regulator class.
It won't be the last mistake, though. The final mistake will be made in the field.

Joe Manchin announced that he’ll vote in favor of confirmation. I suspect if all four met for lunch the other three will vote the same.

About time.
Really, I was not expecting the second half fireworks from anybody but it proved to have an affect on some.

Republicans can advance Kavanaugh's without any support from Democrats, but given their 51-49 seat majority in the chamber, Kavanaugh's supporters can only lose one vote and still advance his nomination. If one of the RINOs voted NO and another PRESENT that would be 49-50 against K. If 2 voted PRESENT and none voted NO that would be 49-49 and Pence could break the tie.

The feeling of importance for a brief moment against a tidal wave will only drown you. Collins could escape due to "Maine" along with Manchin (D), however SC Justices are not to be messed with from those who are easily exposed (Not talking about JUST elected office).
Also, West Virginia is not a localized Democrat stronghold anymore. They can turn on Manchin really quick (Trump's taste of deregulating coal that Obama did not provide to Manchin).

Manchin's latest ads beamed up here to the Pittsburgh market are trying to blame his opponent for ties to the opiod epidemic because his challenger used to represent pharmaceutical clients, among others. They smack of despiration.
Meanwhile, his opponents ads smack of logic where he is meeting with a small group of coal miners to explain how he successfully fought off the ObaMao Administration's attempts to destroy the industry.
