A former Massachusetts state senator awaiting trial on federal corruption charges was found dead in his home Thursday..

The body of former state Sen. Brian A. Joyce, 56, was found by his wife, the Bristol County District Attorney's office said in a statement. The DA’s office said “foul play” was ruled out ..

...

The Democrat, who served as assistant majority leader, was first elected in 1998. Joyce left the Senate after not seeking re-election in 2016 amid the federal probe.

...

In December 2017, Joyce was named in a 113-count indictment charging him with racketeering, extortion, wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors said he allegedly accepted up to $1 million in bribes and kickbacks that he laundered through his company.

US Attorney William Weinreb was investigating former Senator Brian Joyce and his company WINDSWEPT LLC ... The investigation has included Renewable Energy Contracts.. Falmouth, Massachusetts has a foreign made wind turbine funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds meant for domestic use.

Joyce, a Democrat from Milton, schemed to defraud the state by "conspiring to accept and accepting a stream of concealed bribes and kickbacks from private individuals," in exchange for official actions as a senator.

The 104-page indictment includes a number of charges including racketeering, extortion, wire fraud and money laundering.

They say the autopsy will have to be finished before final word, so there is no ‘act’ that you would associate with suicide appearing in this case. I might suspect a bad heart, or over-medicated on something.

Apparently, twenty-one other communities like Falmouth, Massachusetts bought - foreign made - defective wind turbines using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds meant for domestic use.

Kickbacks all around ?

Well, he will probably be still a reliable voter for the Democrats, though.

I would guess more likely than suicide that he was about to ‘flip’.

Seems to me there would be more involved in this than just one state senator. Whom was on the approving side of these funds. Someone in the Obama/Dem party in the DC apparatus. I bet yes.

Suicide?

Wind turbines. He got too close and was sucked in. You don't think they would have stopped with birds, did you?

Sound like he was mobbed-up and the local Tony Soprano types didn’t want him talking.

Maybe he should have claimed he was of "African American" descent.. That seems to work for a lot of other folks in our stinking government...

If it was an unattended death, state and/or local law may make an autopsy mandatory, but how they can rule out foul play so soon is beyond me.
