Gasoline prices are climbing toward $4 a gallon in Southern California, boosted in large part by a rise in worldwide crude oil prices.
The average pump price for regular gas in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area stood at $3.736 a gallon Thursday, up nearly 60 cents, or 19%, from a year earlier, according to the American Automobile Assn.

The gas tax is going down ...
Well, we do have some of the largest gas taxes in the country. So nothing new here.
The closest Ethanol Free gas (~6 mi.) to me is ~ $4.60/gal. [labeled as RV fuel].
I’m currently ~2,000 mi. east of Calif.
Gas at my corner station is $2.61 a gallon for regular unleaded.
Even cheep at the discount places like Sam’s, Walmart and BJ’s.
I just got back from Hawaii. Big Island. Paid a few cents less for gas there. I was shocked. Gas has always been high there.
Aren’t you jealous?
I’ve never understood how a raise in price for future sales of crude oil translates into higher prices for already refined gas.
Buying gasoline for privately owned cars is still legal in CA??
That is destroying out planet.
They need to give up their cars and use the same public transportation that MS 13 does.
Unfortunately, the rest of the country has to pay for the extreme taxes that California places on their drivers. All of the additional costs are coming from the additional taxes that moonbeam and his merry men are placing on their people are passed on to the rest of the country on the services that they sell to the rest of the country.
Gas is priced on what it will cost to replace whats in the tanks under the pumps. Not what they paid for the fuel in those tanks.
wha hoppen to that old 0bama 7$gal gas sign?????????
The E free I buy for my boat is also $4.60 gal.
I don’t know how far CA is from here, but it isn’t far enough.
Oddly enough, E0 is fairly inexpensive and available in IOWA.
That’s a god day’s drive from me though.
When I drive through I tank up.

Really bad news. I’m retired. But the last time that gasoline went to four bucks a gallon, we had people calling in every morning to say they wouldn’t be in because they just didn’t have the money to buy fuel, and the bus would take three hours to get there—and taxi prices were just as prohibitive as the gasoline costs.
“Thats a god days drive from me though.”
I’m not sure how far God would drive in a day, but I’d bet it’s more than I’d want to drive.
