“Barring impeachment and conviction, these are lifetime appointments.”
I’m not sure if you are supporting my statement or challenging it.
Certainly the founding fathers never intended the appointments to be unconditional for life. We should not promote the concept they did.
The Founders said appointments were valid as long as the Judge had “good behavior” this means it is a Lifetime appointment in all but name.
For all practical purposes it is a lifetime appointment.
Another Republican pick up in the Senate.
Thank you former senator
Im gonna plead No Contest.
Young was also my Congresscritter, you dont vote for more than one of those...
So my confusion is sorta justified....
A case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t for Democrat Senators in states that Trump carried big.
That's what Judge Alcee Hastings thought, too. Got him in trouble.
The concept of “lifetime appointment” for federal judges is part of the synthetic constitution. Let's agree on that.
So, if you were on Trial and this Moron was on the Jury, he would Vote to Convict you without a shred of Evidence.
Got it.
I mentioned impeachment and conviction as the only way this appointment is NOT a lifetime appointment.
One has to tie himself in knots to try and say that the OVERWHELMING appointments are not for a lifetime though it is not explicitly stated in the Constitution.
The Constitution actually does speak to this very subject: “The Judges . . . shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour . . .”
If that means anything.
Defeat his ass.
Indiana must do better
