Am I reading this correctly? The old statute of limitations was one year and that is what would have to be applied to anything that happened at that time. Hence, the statute of limitations of one year has expired in Ford’s case....right?

Right. (As I understand it.) People have to be tried under the rule of law that existed at the time of the event.
