President Donald Trump said during a rally in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Saturday that he and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un "fell in love" in recent months, paving the way toward what Trump called a "great relationship."

At a rally meant to shore up support for GOP candidates in the midterm elections, Trump touted the de-escalation in tensions between the US in North Korea and noted that only recently were Trump and Kim trading insults and threatening one another.

"I was really being tough and so was he. And we were going back and forth, and then we fell in love. Okay? No really. He wrote me beautiful letters," Trump said. "They're great letters. We fell in love."

Trump stated the news would make headlines of him saying “we fell in love’....leave it to the Business Insider!

It’s very touching to have a president that can express his deep feelings in such a sincere and touching manner and show us all that despite vast differences, love, or a profound sense of trust can be reached between world leaders.

I wish people here understood the Oriental mind like Trump obviously does. It'd make everything so much easier. The biggest event in foreign affairs since Trump took office was Trump's granddaughter singing to President Xi in Mandarin Chinese. You have no idea how huge that was and the effect it had in China.

Above is a link to the banquet and the GD singing. The Chinese first lady(?) seemed to really enjoy it.

One of our pastors is big in missions. He was in Rwanda where we sponsor a Christian school. They were in a meeting with the school people and the government people and things got VERY heated. The pastor was doing his best to calm things down, but it wasn’t helping.

Then his daughter - 14 or so at the time, started singing. Everyone calmed down to listen to her. (Even then her voice sounded like a professional). I can’t recall if she said anything after she sang, or just the message of the song was enough, but the confrontation ended and they sat down and discussed their differences and worked something out.

If you say so...

It seems to me, we are very close to a real trade war.

China is not backing off at all.

For real.

I’m sure it was a big deal at the time but recently Trump said him and Xi may not be good friends any longer.

This may be another chess move or simply the truth. My gut feeling is China has big plans for its future and believes America is on a downhill trend. The way things are going with the communist dems; they may be right.

Absolutely. The Chinese have such a huge respect for Mr. Trump that it just startles me. On Friday, I was at a business dinner with some factory bosses. Each one was impressed with Mr. Trump and all were confident that trade deals of some sort would settle out. In fact, when I asked them what they thought of Mr. Trump they said “He’s a businessman.”

Which, if you know anything about China, is a big-big comment and a sign of real respect.

We have way more weapons in a trade war then China does. They have no way of winning it, unless we give up.

I seriously see a split between right and left with the Democrats, socialists, communists and anarchists somehow joining Canada and taking some blue states.

We’ve been in one for years and years, even before Bush granted them MFN status. And of course, the people at the top refused to fight back. (That’d be called treason in another age.)

That is EXACTLY my concern.

For real.

There are tons of Americans who are 100% in sell out mode to China.

Lots.

If you think China isn’t backing off you need to triple your reading on the subject.

I have zero evidence of that yet.

Zero.
