A thirst for notoriety, a mental breakdown and $1.6 million gambling losses (Stephen Paddock)

I think there were two threads of the story that got tied together in Vegas:

One thread involved the completely legitimate, normal, on-going interest that governments have in WHO exactly are the baddies trying to buy powerful weapons. You don’t bust them one by one, piecemeal, you wait, uncover a whole, huge right and then bust them all: Undercover ops in which LEO’s knowingly maintain a type of relationship with scumbags is a requirement for success in this.

The other thread involved a Saudi struggle for succession; one power holder was a tepidly religious Saudi reformer who talked about moving away from fundamentalism. The other, a rival, was a more fundamentalist guy who wanted no part of secularism and to stay on the True Path of jihad.

The plan of the jihadi was to knock off the reformer and keep Saudi Arabia as the piggy-bank of jihad.

That’s why they asked for the arms buy to be on the 32nd floor, riiiiight under the Saudi-owned Four Seasons —the newly armed assasins would have only to run up two flights of stairs and be upon their target.

When after offing Paddock it turned out their target wasn’t there they attempted to create chaos as a diversion that would permit them to make good their escape:

It didn’t work.

Paddock was dead and never fired a shot.

Our gummint wants to keep this secret because a fair number of Americans would believe their government INDUCED the massacre, and that would make them look very bad.

And amazingly enough the incompetent Sheriff Joe Lombardo won a re-election after such a botched investigation. People in Las Vegas deserve the corruption they live with in that sinful city by re-electing that corrupt POS.

I’ve heard that theory before, but how would they have escaped unnoticed? Were MGM security in on getting them out of the Mandalay Bay before the police/SWAT and FBI arrived? Did they scrub the cameras of several Saudis leaving the MB around that time? No guests at MB witnessed the escape?

IIRC Islamic State took credit for it.

I think the thing that’s hard to swallow is how to combine components of both the explanations you gave. And other info is the perp searching other concert venues, and that no “spur of the moment massacre” would occur at the last song of a 3 day festival.

Sum Ting Wong but what???

I think Paddock was there to continue in selling arms to these muzzie baddies, continuing to gather info on their ring/cell, in the hopes his superiors would later roll up the whole ring, pump them for intel, or less likely, flip them via some type of blackmail.

These guys came to this particular meet at this time and place with the intent not of buying, but of ripping him off, then doing the hit upstairs.

Some allege there were photos showing a Saudi Prince getting armed federal protection:

I think the reason why the feds were in town was not so much to protect this Prince (various royalty plays in Vegas all the time) but to stand-by in case something went awry with this planned arms buy.

I don’t think Paddock was witting to the whole Saudi Prince/upstairs angle, in his mind this was going to be just another transaction with the Bad Guys.

I think the bad guys’ latest info, which they acted on, was that the Prince really was upstairs:

Whoops.

I think our gummint plans to NEVER tell what this was really about and after the public memory of this has sufficiently dimmed they’ll pump the “disgruntled gambler” angle a whole lot, then close the fetid book on it.

The “one most likely to succeed” is that Paddock was an Agency informant who turned on his handlers, with a little help from some people the Agency thought he was setting up for a sting.

Which wouldmake serious sense if paddock et al made sure it would be found out that our “gov “ was involved. A year later no one suspects the gov enough for it to be a thing. And that is plenty of time for a poweful entity to cover things up.

In your explanation, how and where does the massacre of innocents come in?

...if paddock et al made sure it would be found out that our “gov “ was involved...

His house was burglarized within 24 hours of the attack and cleaned out of computers and other records. How odd that the Government made no move to secure those premises immediately. How convenient that must have been for certain people.

And ISIS did claim to be the author of the attacks, also claiming that Paddock was a Muslim convert. Well, ISIS lies a lot. Maybe they were lying then. Certain they were trying to cash in on the publicity and rally their followers.

Paddock may have been double-crossed by his helpers, if he had helpers. He was reportedly shot twice at close range, with the kill shot to the head. Yes, it could have been a suicide. People sometimes do manage to shoot themselves once in the chest and once in the head. Sometimes. How odd that there is spent brass on top of the blood pool in the photos. Who fired it after Paddock was bleeding out on the floor? Was it the police or somebody else?

Somebody knows exactly what happened on that day. A bunch of somebodies know, in particular, the Casino executive must know. Every yard of public space in those hotels is in range of recorded video and audio surveillance 24 x 7. Most likely a lot of the rooms are too. The executives have great incentives to avoid any publicity on this subject.

99% of those records are under seal or "cannot be found". How incredibly convenient for certain people.

Do you smell something?

You are right to smell something rotten. An old guy with known faulty eyesight shooting and killing more than wounding? Eyewitnesses on that day saying there was another shooter moving on the floor? That’s the only explanation for such a high count. This is not solved.

Like I said, it turned out their target right upstairs was not there, as they'd believed before they killed Paddock and ran upstairs.

The team (probably just 2 guys) needed to get out of the casino:

Which path is more likely to bring success; a highly calm situation in which casino security/LEO's home in on a single armed duo fleeing, or instead one officer atention is completely saturated by the ENTIRE casino (and those surrounding) in total chaos --From which of those two situations would you want to make good your escape..?

So the duo opened fire on the crowd in order to CREAT the chaos that would cover their flight. Hey, those are infidels in a degenerate city, anyway and they were so far away they seemed more like amorphous concepts than people.

It was an area target and they didn't even have to aim.

I don't think Paddock triggered a single round and I don't think he was angry at that casino or any casino. Being a gambler was his cover and his gambling per diem was expensed to Uncle Sugar.

Maybe. You do have some pieces that fit the puzzle.

"...The 64-year-old rained down bullets for approximately 10 minutes from his Mandalay Bay and Casino hotel room..."

The crazy thing is that we have absolutely zero evidence of this.

It all comes from the FBI. You know, the FBI that makes things up from whole cloth.
