The Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor invested more than $600,000 of his campaign donation into a brokerage account.
The amount shows up as a $631,050 loss on his latest campaign finance report, but Wagner has gained more than $840,000 throughout his rare investment practice during the 2018 election cycle.

Trump’s fault.
$200,000+ gains in less than a year? Roughly 30%. Not bad I would say.
Risky, but more power to him for making some money. Is this somehow illegal?
It's not "their own money" after they have given it to the candidates campaign. Not saying it was a good idea, just that facts matter.
Wagner is going to be crushed.... there is no support in PA for him or the R senator...
Wolf and Casey will handily be re elected...
Little Casey is always fortunate in his opponents. It’s better to be lucky than good. Casey is an idiot and a moral-midget.
Wolf is an absolute first class jackass the way he runs the state.
If it’s under his campaign’s name and not his, I don’t see a problem. Do Dim’s get exercised about their funds getting interest in their camaign’s bank accounts?
...The investment practice is risky and unusual in state politics, but not illegal, according to the Post-Gazette report....

Whoever wrote the linked article is either an ignorant idiot or a leftist Agendanista ... or BOTH! This Republican candidate, who is a self-made multi-millionaire actually made an $840,000 gain for the campaign funds that HE CONTRIBUTED to HIS CAMPAIGN FROM HIS PERSONAL FUNDS. Its perfectly legal and SMART. The writer attempts to mislead the reader by referencing various legally required accounting LEDGER ENTRIES to make it appear that he lost money for his campaign.
Scott Wagner can become Pennsylvanias version of Donald Trump. HE WILL MAKE A GREAT GOVERNOR.
Still no one can invest like Hillary and cattle futures.
Nearly a 1000% rate of return.
Is it a paper gain only. That’s what it sounds like.
More disclosure than Hillarys deal with Red Bone.
Better yet this one is legal. /s
If the guy can make money like that, people should line up to vote for him.
He’ll make them and their state rich.
True but hes going to be re-elected solidly... as will Casey.
There is nothing going on on the ground here in PA to indicate either of these races will be close.
The Kavanaugh crap may make the losses less embarrassing, but there is no win for the GOP in these races.
LOL....that’ll probably be his next ad :-)
Is it a paper gain only. Thats what it sounds like.

No, its an ACTUAL net gain of $840,000. The writer was in baffle them with bullshit mode to confuse and/or mislead the Pennsylvania voters and attempt to make Scott Wagner look bad.
Throughout his campaign, Wagner has invested more than $2.9 million. He's reported more than $2 million in losses, resulting in a net gain of about $840,000, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette analysis.
The stupid...it burns. Possibly the worst reporting I have read.
The Pennsylvania GOP has been corrupt and incompetent for as long as I can remember. Of course they are exceeded in both activities by the Pennsylvania Rat party. The Pennsylvania legislature has been striving for New York State legislature levels of corruption for decades.
Wagner just seems like a dead fish.. his campaign does anyway... 5 weeks from Election Day and rarely do you even see or hear his name.
The Senate candidate seems reasonable enough, but same thing barely see anything for him. An ad here and there but not much.
No chance of unseating an incumbent with major name recognition, even if hes about as boring as watching paint dry... I do want to see how polling in places like PA, Wi and MI look after this past week of chaos... because they will be good indicators of baseline changes due to th Kavanaugh nonsense. Wont change the Ds winning those elections, but unlike the close races there is less incentive to fudge the numbers to make things appear closer than they are.
If the polls in those states show reasonable movement 3-4 points in the Republicans favore, pretty much means all the red state Dems are done.. Manchin is probably the only one who may survive.
