Seven people were killed and four others injured in nine shootings over the weekend in Baltimore, according to local reports, increasing the total of those killed in the city to 17 in the past week.
The latest shootings took place across the city on Saturday and Sunday, with victims ranging in age from 22 to 46, The Baltimore Sun reported, adding that the killings brought the number of homicides this year in Baltimore to 231.
Though September has been exceptionally violent, Baltimore is reportedly still on track to see fewer shooting deaths than it did in 2017. A total of 342 people were killed in Baltimore last year, the highest per-capita rate of deaths in the history of the city, which has been plagued by gang violence in recent years, according to the Sun.
Meanwhile, three people were killed and nine wounded in gun violence in Chicago over the weekend.
Chicago and Baltimore are often cited as hubs of gun violence, with both cities often landing among the places with the highest murder rates in the country.
President Trump has often noted the high level of the violence in Chicago, last year offering to send in federal assistance to address the problem.

Our hoodlums are not worried about the police, so they can shoot to kill without fear of punishment. We give "those who wish to destroy space to do that". Sometimes "destroy" includes human lives, and Baltimore's mayor is okay with that.

Baltimore was just jealous of all the attention Chicago has been getting... so they are cranking it up a bit.
So Baltimore and The City With Broad Shoulders are running neck and neck for the title of Most Dangerous City In The Civilized World.

Baltimore and Chicago are in a race to see which city can kill the largest number of it’s Black population, with “honorable mention” most likely going to St. Louis.
Meanwhile, Lost Angeles is doing what it can to “adjust” it’s Mexican population via murder. Don’t you just love what “immigrants” have brought to our country!

If he knew what would come four centuries later, maybe Lord Baltimore would have settled elsewhere.
