In a push to improve diversity at District 15 middle schools in Brooklyn, Mayor de Blasio last week approved a plan to remove admission standards at all of them. In liberal Park Slope and the surrounding areas, the news was received with mixed reactions. Those against the plan were quoted anonymously in various news outlets, lest they somehow appear to oppose diversity. They had seen what happened to Upper West Side parents who were named and shamed in articles when they opposed proposals for their schools.

I could be wrong here but seems to me that NYC is seeking to regain the murder crown it lost under Giuliani.
They demand diversity, but do not live it . They want us ot have what they demand while they live in their elitist, rich, white areas.

Oddly Ann Ryand was either an agnostic if not atheist. Her morals were of Christian faith though not a Christian.
Odd is it not when such as Ann Ryand is much closer to the right than the other side I admire Ann Ryand greatly. She was a great observer of the tyranny of Marxism. She lived it. I don’t object. Public schools are now indoctrination centers. Let those who can afford it, establish their own schools. The sooner, the better.
And then, get the legislatures to approve a voucher system (ie,you get a voucher from the state to use at whatever school you choose).
Get the government out of the education business.
