Google Search Engineer Advocates for Censorship of ‘Terrorist’ Marsha Blackburn
breitbart.com ^ | 1 Oct 2018

A senior software engineer at Google with responsibility for a key feature of Google’s search engine labeled Tennessee Senate candidate Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) a “violent thug” and a “terrorist,” who Google shouldn’t “negotiate” with, according to internal emails obtained by Breitbart News. The employee also defended the censorship of her campaign ads on social media.

The comments took place in an internal email discussion that began on June 19 this year. The topic of discussion was Rep. Blackburn’s Fox News op-ed of the same month, which urged Silicon Valley companies to address bias against conservatives on their platforms. Blackburn, who has herself been the target of social media censorship, has been a vocal critic of tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter during her time in Congress.

Marsha Blackburn’s campaign spokesman, Abbi Sigler, provided the following statement: “These emails are despicable. Marsha Blackburn is a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a dedicated public servant, a pro-life champion, an ally for veterans, and an advocate for lowering our taxes and cutting regulation. To call her a terrorist is offensive and degrading. These emails are indicative of the bias conservative women in the political arena face every day. Liberals do not want them to have a voice in the public arena, and too many social media employees carry their bias to work with them.”

I think we should ban anyone who wants to ban anything.

Blake Lemoine, a senior software engineer at Google, was harsher in his comments.

Need to get the name of these Fascists out to the public.

They're going to do a Kristallnacht in cyberspace.

Eventually, they'll simulate an entire Holocaust in virtual reality.

Need to make Google a public utility. Or break it up under anti trust laws.

Despicable is right. Since Google's a-hole management is 100% in favor of what this cyberterrorist wrote, they will issue some meaningless statement and not crack down on their small cadre of like-minded a-holes.

It’s long past time to use antitrust laws to treat Google like AT&T, and dismantle it into 7 or 8 pieces.

How can someone rise to that level of responsibility and not know what the words “violent” and “thug” mean?

It'll soon happen in real life.

If we don't keep both Houses and re-elect Trump in 2020, the even worse shall happen.

“I don’t like the politics of this candidate. I think I’ll push a few buttons and SILENCE her...”

That’s completely amazing.

And it’s the BEGINNING.

They did it to tiny people, then small people, then big people.

If you extrapolate it’s clear they WILL, some day, do this to a President they disagree with.

There’s no question Google needs to be broken up and parts of it shuttered.

Pretty sure this google guy is not a lonewolf. You can bet that google is going to go all out in the next election to suppress conservative candidates and messages. They’ve been testing the waters recently. Like terrorists doing dry runs. When they feel the time is appropriate, they will turn up the censor dial to high. Expect the other internet media platforms to follow suit.

Yep. They need a nice hefty dose of federal regulation. Call it “net neutrality”. Any but clearly illegal speech in the “digital public square” may not be banned, demonitized, shadow banned, etc.

I think the vast majority of the public would support free speech regulations like this.

This makes my blood boil. We need to non-stop publically call them what they are - COWARDS. I listened to Mark Steyn’s interview before Congress on global warming sober the weekend. He made a great point: when they will try to censor opposing views it’s a clear sign that it’s because they KNOW their ideas are so weak and flawed that they can’t stand up to scrutiny on their own.

Breaking up Google is a good start but the search engine group could still be evil. The information pipe would still be filtered. We need to somehow monitor or tear wide open their search algorithms. Onsite gov monitors? There has to be a way to do this. E.g. A, B and C going into their black hole information pipe still comes out A,B and C when someone searches. NO filtering. It’s a challenge.
