Voters in most Southern states are expected to back Republican candidates in the upcoming midterms, according to a new NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll.
The poll found that voters in most Southern states are more likely to support a Republican for Congress than the nation as a whole, with 48 percent of Southerners saying they would vote for a GOP candidate if the midterms were held today compared to 43 percent that would back Democrats.
Forty-nine percent of voters nationally would vote for a Democratic candidate if the elections were held right now while 42 percent would vote for a Republican, according to NBC.
The NBC/SurveyMonkey poll surveyed voters in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
The only Southern state where voters were more likely to back Democrats was Georgia, where 47 percent of voters said they would vote for a Democrat. Forty-three percent said they are backing Republicans.
The poll found the Georgia gubernatorial race at a tie, with 43 percent saying they would vote for Brian Kemp (R) and 43 percent backing Stacey Abrams (D). Fourteen percent of voters reported they are undecided.
Voters in most Southern states also reported higher approval ratings of the president than the rest of the country. Fifty-two percent of Southern voters said they think the president is doing a good job while forty-nine percent disapprove. Fifty-four percent of voters nationally disapprove of President Trump.
Georgia is again an outlier among Southern states, with 54 percent of Georgians disapproving of Trump.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey polls were conducted from Sept. 9-24, with a national sample of 8,898 registered voters and a regional sample of 2,655 registered voters.
Yep , he is an old commie .
This lying snake been in the senate since I was in grade
school .
Tons of Soros and Steyer $ being dumped into GA. And now FL, to Gillum the marxist gun grabber.
I’m personally walking around to a dozen people making sure they will vote.
Well going more and more liberal in each election may work in California or New York but they are just cutting their own throats here by going full out communist/socialist.
Don’t get me wrong as Georgia is a weird state in that a lot of Republicans that get elected are much more liberal than the people they represent but not going full out liberal for a long time.
but this going in more of a liberal progressive direction in California will eventually become a problem for all. Here in Orange County Mimi Walters and Dana Rohrabacher are trailing in some polls in districts never won by the Democrats.
the GOP needs national help here as this is how the DNC operates from afar. Porter whom runs against Walters is actually ENDORSED by Elizabeth Warren as she is a far left progressive. Never in my lifetime here in south Orang County did I ever believe I would see this.
Lot of CA transplants too I think because of the film tax credits. Lots of movies and series being made in GA
It will be a red tsunami wave.
Thanks to the demwits, this house will not be looking closely at the local candidates. We will take 2 seconds at the poll and vote straight GOP. Done and done.
For Texas Freepers and Freepers with relatives in Texas:
We all know just how clean all Marxist RATs are in their glass houses.

Democrat geniuses said "look at all those black people in Georgia. How come we always lose there?"
"From red wave to TIDAL wave."
In GA a tie goes to the Republican. 14% undecided means a handy GOP victory. Georgia went Trump handily in 2016. We love love Trump here.
