Of course he’s not going to stop the leaks. I’d love to see him charge anyone who does leak confidential statements that were given to the FBI. Hoping he’s devious enough when pushed too far, this might be a trap.

Any Senator can READ the report into the record and thus make it available to all.
A summary of the report has already been slowly released from the weekend thru today, with reports that both Judge and Leyland have not changed their minds from their initial statements.

The Democrats want this thing kept secret, and THEY are willing to provide the votes to McConnell to confirm Kavanaugh if McConnell keeps it secret. (Hell, it will leak anyway - and the leaks will be all over the place with party spin included).
This was McConnell’s deal to pass Kavanaugh...Flake is a no, because he’s a turd, but the Democrats are giving McConnell at least 3 votes...but only if he keeps the report classified. Schumer’s just blowing smoke here to try and save their party’s bacon.
And five minutes later some Democrat will leak it to the press.
If they were smart there would be small tells placed in 100 different versions of the same report in order to nail down EXACTLY which report gets leaked to the press.

I doubt it. McConnell is correct in the investigation reports are supposed to be confidential due to the privacy concerns of all parties involved. Background investigations are performed by investigative agencies and contractors, but they are only supposed to be made available to the customer (in this case the Senate Judiciary Committee) so they can make their job hiring decisions. Its the same way if you work in a classified environment. The customer, I'll say CIA as an example, pays to have the investigation done, and then the customer decides if they still want to bring an employee aboard based on the results. The customer decides, not the investigator.
