A look at his mugshot would tell you he has a drug/mental health problem. Interviews with his neighbors indicated people have purchased guns and put up security cams because of him and that he has verbally accosted others without provocation.
The heavy charges kept his ass in jail until he was no longer strung out on street drugs and back on his regular medications. Then the jury kindly found him guilty of lesser charges and time served was sentenced.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
To me it was overkill. He could have been arrested on disorderly conduct, menacing perhaps then sent to drug rehab. No need to trot out the dog and pony show of Grand Jury, DA and “Hate” Crime.
