Once upon a time, it was difficult to get an article published in a reputable journal. Now there are a plethora of journals and the level of scholarship required to get published has dropped drastically. This article is yet another example of the craziness that is occurring in colleges. And unfortunately, these students go on to be high school, junior high school, and elementary school teachers. David Horowitz is correct when he said that the "studies" departments at universities were started as simply a way to satisfy some of the political demands of Leftist faculty and students in the 1970s. One of my students is currently enrolled in an "Ethnic Studies" class that is part of the required General Ed courses at UC-Irvine. I have seen his textbook and lecture notes. They are a farce. The author & professor is an old white guy who continually interprets any action by a conservative to be done with the worst possible motive (racism, greed, etc). He is completely one-sided. It is nothing but a Leftist indoctrination course.

Going back 10 years when my son was in college he used to scheme with me for ridiculous content to include in his social studies courses.
Some good times shared over a beer or two and plate of wings.
Two of his best grades (A) on papers were “If you disagree with Obama you are a racist” and “If you think OJ is guilty you are a racist”.
