Old school Doctor treat, Chung for hysteria!
By Rachel P. Maines.
Johns Hopkins University Press (1999).
From the time of Hippocrates until the 1920s, massaging female patients
to orgasm was a staple of medical practice among Western physicians in the
treatment of hysteria, an ailment once considered both common and
chronic in women. Doctors loathed this time-consuming procedure and for
centuries relied on midwives. Later, they substituted the efficiency of
mechanical devices, including the electric vibrator, invented in the 1880s.
In The Technology of Orgasm, Rachel Maines offers readers a stimulating
, surprising, and often humorous account of hysteria and its treatment
throughout the ages, focusing on the development, use, and fall into
disrepute of the vibrator as a legitimate medical device.

My skepticism was due to being immersed with a bunch of PBR sailors getting their navy hitch over after Nam. They took a liking to me for vouching for one of them at a Captains Mast. They taught me a lot sooner than experiencing it on my own. A good thing? Not sure about that. But I kept out of trouble till I met my wife, 46 years ago. They did pull the curtain open on reality about a lot back then.

This does not meet Gloria Steinem’s definition of sexual assault. Connie never said no or put up resistance it was only until after the completion that she expressed regret

I can believe that. An adored and trusted pediatrician back home was finally caught. But in Chung’s case, she REMEMBERED the abuse for 50 years, instead of suddenly, conveniently popping up with a “recovered” memory against the nominee of a man she politically loathes, and, as I suspect her social media, when finally unearthed, will demonstrate, actively worked against, as a political operative. Connie Chung may also loathe POTUS, but that has nothing to do with whether or not she was sexually assaulted by her family doctor.

I don't know where these women who were teens in the 80's get all these fantasies in their head.
Oh, wait, yes I do.

The journalist, then a college student, went to see the doctor in the 1960s to ask for birth control Looks like she perhaps felt it necessary to get some protection anticipating some kind of rendezvous. We have no idea what the initial conversation was about between the two regarding her health or need for birth control. I mean . . .getting birth control for what reason?

In the midst of the sexual revolution, male and female sexologists of the day may not have found such methods to be unorthodox.
Kinsey, Reich, Masters & Johnson may have been quacks but they were the go to names then

RE: This is getting ridiculous. If someone is going to tell her story she needs to name names. I don’t believe these anonymous accusations.
Didn’t KellyAnne Conway say she was sexually assaulted too?
Who’s the culprit in her case?

Connie Chung was allegedly sexually assaulted by a family doctor 50 years ago. So that lends credibility to Ford’s accusations against Kavanaugh how exactly?

I am sorry Connie but I am unable to conjure up one single iota of "giveadamn".
Your "pound me too" has left me skeptical of any "long time ago, never told anyone" story.
Maybe it happened, but more likely you are just being an attention whore.
Shove off you silly git.

Believe it or not, it happens more then you can know. I am not a #metoo groupie. My sister and I were molested as little girls by our trusted grand-father. My two best girlfriends who I have been friends with for over 20 yrs- told me they were molested and/or raped by close family members. They told me 15yrs ago so not a recent me too a ha moment.
There are a lot of dirty little secrets involving kids and family members.
