I pretty much ignore gun free zones for the most part. Carry most places. Unless they have a metal detector, they are gonna have to catch me some other way and kick me out.

It's not a crime to carry in a private business. The only penalty is not going back once you've been discovered and asked to leave. Going back might then be a crime - it depends on that state's laws.
But carrying in a government building where it's prohibited is a crime in every state I know of.

Here in Washington state it is “legal” to have a gun in a store that is marked “no guns” (except for bars which is a no-go legally). The business, if they catch you, can ask you to leave. If you refuse to leave, then you are trespassing and can be arrested.
