I have an observation and a question. I don't remember the dims or anyone else having such a cow over Gorsuch. What is the deal with Kavannaugh? Just curious.

As I said before, if the Dems had any honesty (I know, I know, this is extinct in the party) or even intellect, there would have been a very legitimate and PROVABLE way of NOT CONFIRMING Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh’s stance on warrantless spying is extremely troubling – although there may be some signs his opinion has changed.

His original viewpoint on warrantless wiretapping claimed it was consistent with the Fourth Amendment.

You’re talking about secret courts which hardly give people the avenue to dispute why their data is being seized.

It should also be pointed out we’re talking about a government which is considering a law forcing nonprofits to share information with police and regulators “regarding individuals, entities, organizations, and countries suspected of possible human trafficking or related money laundering activities.

This bill would allow the government to get information on people without a warrant or probable cause. Financial entities or nonprofits who go along with this awful law are exempt from any possible civil action from those who somehow find out their information is exposed.

The Senate, if they were doing their job would be harping on this decision and making it an issue, which is a LEGITIMATE and VERY IMPORTANT ONE at that.

That this issue was not given any importance in favor of a juvenile attack that may not have happened 36 years ago just shows us the kind of people we are voting into our national legislature.

I just hope that with this terrible experience he had to go through, his stance on individual freedom will be less Kennedyesque.

I think they were in part encouraged by how they were able to take out Roy Moore with the bogus old stuff.

What happened in the meantime, also, is Gorsuch. There were notions from the right and the left that he might be like Anthony Kennedy. He’s proved to be more like Samuel Alito. And Kavanaugh has been very close to Gorsuch.

Poor Kavanaugh was nominated after the Dims were able to keep Moore from being elected in Alabama using 40-year-old made up allegations of sexual abuse. The Dims are using that tactic on anybody and everybody they disagree with until it quits working.

Gorsuch is a conservative replacing a conservative, Kavanaugh is a conservative replacing whatever Anthony Kennedy was.

The Dims are beginning to realize that Kavanaugh will result in a 5-4 majority that BELIEVES in the US Constitution AND that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has started buying only speckled bananas.

Progressive ideology demands group think on their bottom-line issue--population control: else, the eating up of the nation's wealth under socialism couldn't last long enough to get voters to accept it and install them as "the People's" rulers!

This is about changing the house and senate...not about Kavanaugh.

I hope the next pick is a man also.

Gorsuch was confirmed in April 2017

The whole Weinstein and #metoo movement stuff occurred in October 2017, six months later.

Had they known that mere allegations could have hurt Gorsuch, they sure as hell would have used them, but they didn’t know what a powerful uncontrolled weapon they had at the time.

The other reason is that if the Democrats lose potentially 5-7 seats in the Senate in the mid-term elections, the makeup of the Judiciary Committee when Ginsburg vacates will be 12-9 instead of the current 11-10.

They're fighting hard right now because they will have smaller ranks on the committee for the next confirmation.

Gorsuch was filling Scalia’s seat. noshift in the balance of power.

Because communist progressives worship Moloch and they think Kavanaugh will move the balance and they won’t be able to worship Moloch with human sacrifices.

Don’t let anyone fool you, this is a spiritual battle.

I think they were still in a state of shock over the election with Gorsuch. Also, they think they will have the senate in January.

This was my liberal friend’s argument: the allegations are not politically motivated and Kavanaugh is probably guilty, because the same things weren’t said about Gorsuch.

The Kavanaugh confirmation is HUGE for a number of reasons, but I believe the one case coming down that has Democrats terrified is Alabama V. United States Dept of Commerce

In this case Alabama is suing the Census Bureau because it's Residence Rule includes illegal immigrants, which means 1) illegal immigrants are considered as part of the population for apportionment of Congressional seats, and 2) Alabama is projected to lose one of it's Congressional seats.

The suit is arguing that including illegals in apportionment calculations goes against section 2 of the 14th Amendment, because it does not give equal consideration to voters. For example, the number of voters in a congressional district in a low illegal immigrant state is around 550,000 but in a state with a high number of illegal immigrants the average number of voters in a Congressional district is 450,000. The vote of voters in low illegal immigrant states is diluted by illegals being considered in the population for apportionment.

If Alabama wins this case, then 20-30 Congressional seats may shift from states with high numbers of illegal immigrants to states with lower numbers of illegal immigrants. California may lose 5 seats by itself.

Expect the Democrats to put up a HUGE fight on the Citizenship question being on the Census. If they have it removed, the courts will likely throw the case out, because without it there is no legal remedy. If there is no way to exclude illegal immigrants, then there is nothing the court can do.

Gorsuch was nominated in early 2017. The Democrats couldn’t turn it into a midterm election campaign spectacle because it was more than a year and a half before the elections.

Gorsuch replaced Scalia, and you could not get more right wing so nothing changed. Kav replaces Kennedy who was liberal on social issues. Now it’s a harder right turn. Also Kav is a thought leader, so a Stalinist execution of a Kulak was warranted.
