Lots of people in the GOP still like Kavanaugh. If the GOP holds the house, he may get some of the credit.
Maybe the keeping the suspense is part of some kind of strategy by McConnell. He seems anxious to get the vote counted.

Edinva, that’s what I’ve been saying. Toss out Sen Feinstein and deal with the newbie at the next election. Meanwhile, search for a strong Republican. The newbie senator would have no power and extremely little chance of actually getting anything he wants to the floor under a Republican controlled Senate. If I were in California and able to vote, I’d be telling the ballot, “This is for Judge Kavanaugh!” as I was pulling the ticket!

FreeBird, please, put down whatever you have that you are typing on and disconnect any mode of communication to the GOP that you may have. We are trying to get Judge Kavanaugh CONFIRMED, not assassinated.
I think what we’re seeing is people who don’t pay a lot of attention to politics but vote Democrat because their parents and grandparents voted Democrat, suddenly realizing what a corrupt freak show the Democrat Party has become.

80skid, I would be extremely surprised if Judge Kavanaugh turns out to be a squish as a Justice on the Supreme Court. After he’s watched his family go through Hell, he’s pretty much a changed man. I know of very few men who love their family members who would come out unaffected by what he’s watched them go through. And he knows his wife and daughters will remain targets no matter which way the vote goes simply because they exist.
