Last night when I saw this on CNN and MSNBC I thought the same thing, easy for him to coast through his appointment with Democrats full support because he was a liberal appointed by a Republican....then act like he knows what it was like.

John Paul Stevens was an arse from the get go. He didn't even pretend to be grateful to the president who nominated him. Not even for a little while.

If he dislikes Kavanaugh, that is all the more reason we will confirm a great justice, hopefully before this day is over.
