Actually, it does make sense to vote YES now and No tomorrow, and vice versa. Today's vote was to merely end the debate, to allow the vote to go to the floor in 30 hours. A senator voting YES now, wants to end the debate now so they can vote NO tomorrow. Conversely, a senator could vote NO today because they want additional information/investigation/debate, but if forced to vote tomorrow, would vote YES, because to date, there is not enough evidence to torpedo Judge K based on his considerable adult life achievements and his record as a judge.
