October is National Lie to Your Pollster Month! It's time to put an end to polling madness. Before there was fake news, there was polling. Virtually all polling results released to the public is agenda driven astroturfing. We the public should lie to our pollster no matter what the issue or the questions being asked. It doesn't matter if you're right or left or libertarian. The goal is to make polling so inaccurate and fallacious that the media gives up on this not so subtle form of propaganda and manipulation. Remember, so-called poll results are not news, they are the opposite of news. They are created to push a point of view that is usually the opposite of reality. Polling is a pseudo-science who's time has come and gone. Let's drive it from the American political landscape!
“Why I intend to vote the straight Working Families Party ticket.”
In an era of cell phones polls are ridiculous. If you really want to know a patients status you float in a Swan not a toe temperature. (I know, Im showing my age.)
The only problem I see with that is the results of those lies could be counter-productive by demoralizing those of our ilk into giving up and not voting at all.
Our ilk are dumb enough to believe polls?!
“Glory to Communism!”
When lying don’t pick the democrat candidate. Pick some third party
Our ilk include lots of folk that aren’t into posting everyday at FR or elsewhere. They’re the folk whose minds can be swayed by media half-truths and outright lies.
I was robo-polled recently and decided to be a female college graduate born in 1979 who voted for Illary but am now supporting Trump and my local Republican congressman.
LOL
And here I thought it was national Democrat, lie to the public month.
I’ve been getting ‘one question polls’ from what is likely spoofed numbers (keep changing but always meant to look like a ‘local’ call) which don’t identifiy the pollster - I figure it is just a marketing ploy to build a profile on me for political campaigns.
