Senator Murkowski Voted Against Kavanaugh. Read Her Remarks Declaring Why.
New York Times ^ | October 5, 2018

SENATOR LISA MURKOWSKI: I did not come to a decision on this until walking onto the floor this morning. I have been wrestling to really try to know what is fair and what is right, and the truth is, that none of this has been fair.

This hasn’t been fair to the judge, but I also recognize that we need to have institutions that are viewed as fair and if people who are victims, people who feel that there is no fairness in our system of government, particularly in our courts, then you’ve gone down a path that is not good and right for this country. And so I have been wrestling with whether or not this was about qualifications of a good man or is this bigger than the nomination.

And I believe we’re dealing with issues right now that are bigger than the nominee and how we ensure fairness and how our legislative and judicial branch can continue to be respected. This is what I have been wrestling with, and so I made the — took the very difficult vote that I did.

I believe Brett Kavanaugh’s a good man. It just may be that in my view he’s not the right man for the court at this time. So I have taken my vote here this morning, I’m going to go back to my office and write a floor statement that is more fulsome and have the opportunity to have that.

But this has truly been the most difficult evaluation of a decision that I have ever had to make, and I’ve made some interesting ones in my career.

Like the Hawaiian Senator who said:

“Guess who’s perpetuating all of these kind of actions? It’s the men in this country. And I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up.”

The Democrats were surely working that assiduously.

>>Now we know what she really is!<<

Now? Most of us have known since she was first elected that she’s a despicable piece of garbage. Never contribute to any Republican fundraising organization, only to individual candidates.

Sarah had enough of the fake Republican machine in Alaska, she’s moving to a warmer climate.

I think she just moved out of the State, but there’s plenty of time to move back before 2022.

I would think Alaska could find someone better than Murkowski. But in any event, someone who has a chance of beating her ought to move to Alaska now.

I heard someone propose Trump shut off the spigot in ANWAR (there’s a lot of oil in the Permian basin) for a few years.

Don’t punish the fine people of Alaska when you really just want to punish Murkowski.

>>All the Retired Hippies in Alaska told her to ?<<

Alaska has for years been a haven for countless trashy bums, and Maine runs a very close second.

What a bunch of pointless, equivocating gobbledy-gook. I could pick anyone at random from the telephone book and they’d be a more competent Senator.

why is anyone surprised?

She got primaries out and the Native Corps/Big Money helped her to buy back her seat.

OWNED by Big Money.

NOT MY Senator. she sold out a long time ago.

Summary: This hasn't been fair to the judge, so I will be further unfair. The judge is a good man, so I will vote against him.

This liberal piece of shit needs to be drummed out of the party. She isn't a useful republican vote anyways. The Demoncraps can have her.

Let's break this down...

"This hasn’t been fair to the judge, but I also recognize that we need to have institutions that are viewed as fair and if people who are victims, people who feel that there is no fairness in our system of government, particularly in our courts, then you’ve gone down a path that is not good and right for this country. >hasn't been fair to the judge: YOU CAN FIX THAT WITH A 'YES' VOTE.
>'people who are victims': FORD ISN'T A VICTIM, AND EVEN IF SHE IS, KAVANAUGH ISN'T THE CAUSE.
>'about qualifications ... or... bigger than the nomination': IT'S ENTIRELY ABOUT QUALIFICATIONS; HOW DOES A 'NO' VOTE HELP YOUR SO-CALLED BIGGER PURPOSE??

This isn't hard: find victims, punish perps, let the innocent go free. Pursue justice where it can be found. Mistakes will be made... but punishing those known to be innocent (Kavanaugh) is the OPPOSITE of your goal, Senator!!

>>She can pull this crap because she’s not up again until 2022. There’s no method for recalling a U.S. Senator. She figures that this will be long forgotten in 4 years, and meanwhile she can feel good about herself as the scrappy heroine of the feminist left that she’d like to be (but usually can’t since she represents Alaska).<<

Well, I have bad news for the “scrappy heroine”. Her goose is cooked because nobody is going to forget, and whoever runs against her in the next primary can count on HUGE financial support in order to beat the hell out of her.

One wonders how someone as stupid and obviously brain-dead ever got elected to the senate...but upon reflection we realize she has a lot of company.

One thing that’s interesting is the alphabet, yes the alphabet. You see if you understand the alphabet you would realize that Murkowski votes last out of the 4 members being concentrated on.

What if Collins and Flake votes yes and Murkowski does not commit publicly to how he will vote? That would mean that Joe Mancin would have to be the deciding vote when his turn comes up. Am I conspiratorial? Is it possible this whole thing’s a ploy to ferret out Joe Mancin as to his vote?

Look for Joe to change his name between now and the vote tomorrow to Joe Nancin.... :-)
