old style demos cannot apprehend the wackiness of their new overlords, the soros ultra left whackos.
they will be looking to become “moderate republicans” as their party splits along the ‘pussyriot’ lines that the wackos brought to the democrat table.
the leftywhacos will take over the vestiges of the old democrat party...
and the disgruntled white, middle class democrats will migrate to the right... and then the republican party split will get more apparent. the moderates will stake out what was once ‘the middle’ and the more true conservatives will probably keep the peace by allowing a subset in the party to have some say so... that is, the ‘tea party’ types.
for a while.
I give it 24-30 years before we fully morph into a multi party body politic. but I think there will be some CW2 between now and then. and perhaps the crazies can all be locked up or incentivized to move away to other lefty safe zones in Europe or South America
