I don’t know about that. Their base consists of some really crazed people right now, but not terribly astute people politically.
Hearing that their sitting Senator voted the opposite of the day before might just confuse them enough that they just drop out and don’t bother to vote.
Others could be mad enough about the switch to skip their name on the ballot.
All of them are definitely in a lose/lose situation right now, which is why it was so important to get Kavanaugh confirmed before the election.
Now, if they hadn’t made such a stink and confirmed him unanimously, as they should have, none of this would have mattered. But it’s hard to put all that toothpaste back in the tube.
