Kavanaugh vote: What time, what channel, how to watch Saturday’s confirmation vote

What’s going on now: Senators – mostly Democrats, who have said they plan to use the 30 hours of debate granted by the cloture motion – have been delivering speeches to a nearly empty chamber since midday Friday. The speeches will likely continue through Saturday, up until the call for the vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

What time: The vote will come at the end of the 30-hour period that began on Friday at 10:52 a.m. EDT. The vote is expected to be taken sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. EDT.

What channel: Cable news networks and network channels will be broadcasting the Senate vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination. You can also watch the vote on C-SPAN 2.

Livestream: You can watch the Senate livestream by clicking here.

What has to happen for Kavanaugh to be confirmed: If no senator changes his or her cloture vote, then Kavanaugh will be confirmed by a vote of 51-49.

Sen. Steve Daines, R-Montana, will be attending his daughter’s wedding on Saturday in Montana, so, unless his vote is needed for the nomination to pass, he may not return to Washington to vote.

If no senator changes his or her cloture vote and Daines does not return to vote, the vote would likely be 50-49.

Thanks, MEG. I understand Merkowsky’s kind offer and do respect her for it. However, just in case I would have the jet on stand-by.

Now that Kavanaugh is going to be confirmed they will shift their rhetoric to delegitimizing the court . . .

You mean that the legislators will have to get off their duffs and actually make the laws instead of relying on judicial activism to do their job for them? < /s >

If Senator M tries to pull a fast one, McConnell can hold off the vote long enough to get Daines in.

The rules are so strange; but since the Senate never adjourned since last Friday, just recessed, that the quorum then may count. Not sure.

Cloture vote was 51-49. Murk was no, Manchin was yes.

Current vote for today stands at 50-48. Manchin is yes, Daines not voting, Murk voting present.

Would not be surprised to see a suicide car bomber from the democratic side. No sarcasm. These people are evil.

And then the dems and the media would justify it.

51-49. Lisa Murkowski voted with the rats. Manchin voted with the pubs.

And if Trump stealthily flew in to walk the bride down the aisle...

Best idea/solution yet!!! A winner for all parties involved.

Believe Trump has a rally scheduled today, but he is pretty mobile and the event could be televised live at the rally.

For you major tennis fans, this reminds me of a great Federer grand slam final, where he’s down 2 sets to 1, then wins the 4th in a close tie-breaker. Now, you’re jumping through the roof that we’re headed to the 5th and final set. All throughout, it’s close and there’s no 5th set tie-breaker and he must win by 2 games. How’s it going to end?

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering when the 30 hour clock would expire allowing the Senate to then start the final confirmation vote.

I’ll be watching the LSU Tigers @ Florida Gators game then, but will also watch FR online about the vote.

GEAUX TIGERS!!! GEAUX KAVANAUGH!!!

This cryptic tweet from Rubio is disturbing. Something pretty bad has been going on in the background and I think we should be told.

Most will never know the full extent of the efforts to intimidate & threaten @SenatorCollins on the #Kavanaugh vote. I am not talking about political pressure or people screaming at her in an elevator. I am talking about vicious, vile & dangerous actions. She is legit.
